1. Trainee Assistant – Operations Department (Roles and Responsibilities)
· A Trainee Assistant in the Operations Department is responsible for learning the day-to-day activities of transport and logistics operations under the guidance of senior staff.
· The trainee assists in shipment booking, preparing delivery documents, tracking vehicle movements, updating operational records, coordinating with drivers and warehouse personnel, and maintaining accurate data in the logistics management system.
· The role also involves learning company policies, safety procedures, customer service standards, and basic inventory management.
· A Trainee Assistant develops problem-solving skills, understands transportation processes, and gains practical experience to prepare for higher operational responsibilities.
2. Assistant / Senior Assistant – Operations Department (Roles and Responsibilities)
· An Assistant or Senior Assistant in the Operations Department is responsible for coordinating daily transport and logistics activities to ensure timely delivery of goods.
· Duties include preparing shipment documentation, scheduling vehicles, coordinating with customers, drivers, warehouse teams, and vendors, monitoring dispatch and delivery status, maintaining operational records, and resolving routine operational issues.
· Senior Assistants also supervise junior staff, ensure compliance with company procedures, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and support operational planning. They play an important role in improving service quality, maintaining communication across departments, and ensuring smooth logistics operations.
3. Shift In-charge / Operations In-charge – Operations Department (Roles and Responsibilities)
· A Shift In-charge or Operations In-charge is responsible for managing all operational activities during an assigned shift.
· This includes supervising warehouse staff, drivers, loaders, and dispatch personnel to ensure productive movement of goods.
· The role involves monitoring vehicle loading and unloading, ensuring timely dispatches, handling operational emergencies, maintaining safety and security standards, allocating manpower, preparing shift reports, and resolving customer or transportation issues.
· The Shift In-charge ensures compliance with company policies, improves operational efficiency, minimizes delays, and maintains continuous coordination with warehouse managers and branch offices.
5. Branch Manager – Branch Activities (Roles and Responsibilities)
· A Branch Manager is responsible for managing the overall operations and business performance of a transport or logistics branch.
· Key responsibilities include supervising operations, warehouse activities, customer service, finance, administration, and staff performance.
· The Branch Manager ensures timely transportation services, monitors branch profitability, develops customer relationships, resolves operational issues, maintains compliance with company policies and government regulations, and achieves business targets.
· The role also involves recruiting and training employees, monitoring operational efficiency, controlling branch expenses, preparing management reports, and ensuring high customer satisfaction through effective service delivery.
6. Area Manager – Overall Transport or Logistics Services (Roles and Responsibilities)
· An Area Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple branches or operational locations within a designated geographical area.
· The role includes monitoring branch performance, ensuring operational efficiency, improving service quality, achieving revenue and profitability targets, and maintaining customer satisfaction.
· The Area Manager develops business strategies, supports branch managers in solving operational challenges, ensures compliance with company policies and safety regulations, reviews financial performance, manages resource allocation, and identifies business expansion opportunities.
· Regular performance reviews, staff development, and coordination with senior management are also key responsibilities.
7. Regional Manager – Overall Transport or Logistics Services (Roles and Responsibilities)
· A Regional Manager is responsible for leading and managing transport and logistics operations across multiple areas within a region.
· The role focuses on developing regional business strategies, achieving operational excellence, improving profitability, and ensuring consistent service quality across all branches.
· Responsibilities include supervising Area Managers, reviewing financial and operational performance, implementing company policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing key customer relationships, controlling budgets, and identifying opportunities for business growth.
· The Regional Manager also drives process improvements, employee development, risk management, and long-term strategic planning to strengthen the organization's regional presence.
Qualifications:
- Graduate in any stream.
- Proven experience in logistics or operations management, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
