Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and energetic Commis 2 / Commis 3 Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will assist senior chefs in preparing cakes, pastries, breads, desserts, and high-volume banquet sweets. Key Responsibilities
- Mise en Place: Scale, measure, and prepare raw ingredients (flour, chocolate, dairy, etc.) accurately according to standard recipe sheets. [1, 2]
- Baking & Finishing: Assist in baking sponges, cookies, tarts, and breads, as well as finishing, icing, and piping cakes for daily display or orders.
- Section Maintenance: Maintain absolute cleanliness and hygiene at your workstation, walk-in coolers, and pastry tools in compliance with FSSAI food safety standards. [1, 2, 3]
- Inventory Control: Label, date, and store ingredients properly using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) system to prevent raw material wastage. [1, 2, 3]
- Equipment Care: Safely operate and clean standard bakery equipment like planetary mixers, deck ovens, proofers, and dough sheeters. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Teamwork:
Follow the daily production plan and operational instructions given by the CDP, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Minimum 10th/12th pass with a Diploma/Certificate in Bakery & Confectionery or Food Production. Hotel Management graduates (BHM / B.Sc.) are welcome. [1, 2]
- Experience:
- Commis 3: 0 to 1 year of experience (including industrial training/internships) in a bakery, cafe, cloud kitchen, or hotel.
- Commis 2: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a professional pastry kitchen environment. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of sponge making, whipping creams, basic chocolate work, and bread kneading. [1, 2]
- Language: Basic understanding of Hindi, English, or the local regional language to communicate effectively with the kitchen team. [1, 2]
