About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team and play a key role in building, deploying, and operating scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure for our next-generation Analytics Platform.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will work across Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps, release management, security, networking, and FinOps. You will partner closely with software engineering teams working on microservices to enable reliable deployments and resilient production environments.
This role requires strong production ownership and advanced troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex infrastructure and application issues, automate operational processes, and continuously improve platform reliability, deployment velocity, security, and cloud efficiency.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Manage and troubleshoot production Kubernetes environments, including complex issues related to scheduling, networking, DNS, ingress, storage, resource utilization, autoscaling, RBAC, deployments, and cluster health.
- Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins, covering application builds, testing, security checks, containerization, deployment, approvals, rollback, and production releases.
- Implement and manage GitOps-based deployments using Argo CD and Helm, establishing consistent and reliable deployment practices across development, staging,
and production environments.
- Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform, Terragrunt, and/or OpenTofu, including reusable modules, multi-environment infrastructure, remote state management, and automated infrastructure delivery.
- Manage AWS services including EC2, S3, CloudFront, EBS, VPC, ECR, Load Balancers, CloudWatch, Route 53, and IAM, with a focus on scalability, availability, performance, and operational reliability.
- Support AWS Organizations and multi-account environments, including IAM roles and policies, cross-account access, role management, permission boundaries, and least-privilege access.
- Work closely with engineering teams running Python and Node.js microservices, supporting containerized workloads and troubleshooting application, infrastructure, networking, configuration, and runtime issues.
- Own and improve release management and production deployment processes, including deployment planning, release coordination, versioning, rollback strategies, production controls, and continuous improvement of release reliability.
- Drive FinOps and cloud cost optimization by identifying underutilized resources, optimizing AWS and Kubernetes workloads, improving resource utilization, and establishing cost-conscious infrastructure practices.
- Manage DNS, domains, TLS/SSL certificates, ingress, load balancing, and external application access, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity between internal services, users, and third-party systems.
- Support integrations with external applications, APIs, SaaS platforms, webhooks, and third-party services, troubleshooting connectivity, authentication, routing, security, and availability issues.
- Implement and continuously improve security practices across AWS, Kubernetes, containers, IAM, CI/CD, and infrastructure, including secrets management, RBAC, vulnerability scanning, network controls, and secure deployment practices.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, participate in incident resolution and root-cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to improve availability, observability, MTTD, and MTTR.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks and continuously improve developer experience, deployment velocity, infrastructure reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with software engineers, technical leads, QA, security, and other stakeholders to translate application requirements into scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code and infrastructure reviews, documentation, operational best practices,
and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, or a similar production-focused role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including advanced production troubleshooting and understanding of Kubernetes networking, scheduling, storage, ingress, autoscaling, resources, and RBAC.
- Strong experience with AWS, including EC2, S3, CloudFront, EBS, VPC, IAM, Route 53, Load Balancers, ECR, and CloudWatch.
- Strong experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, with working experience in Jenkins.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and exposure to Terragrunt and/or OpenTofu for infrastructure automation.
- Experience with Docker, Helm, and Argo CD/GitOps and deploying containerized applications in production.
- Experience supporting Python and Node.js-based microservices and understanding application–infrastructure dependencies.
- Strong understanding of AWS Organizations, IAM roles and policies, cross-account access, RBAC, DNS, networking, TLS/SSL, HTTP/HTTPS, and load balancing.
- Experience with production release management, deployment strategies, rollback, incident management, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of FinOps, AWS cost optimization, resource utilization, and cloud cost governance.
- Strong Linux administration, shell scripting, automation, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or equivalent technologies is a plus.
- Experience with Kubernetes security, container security, vulnerability scanning, and secure CI/CD practices is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and attention to detail.
- Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Eagerness to learn, improve systems, and take increasing ownership of infrastructure and platform engineering.
