The Job:

To look into the creative visualization, design, production and fabrication of sets and spatial experiences across corporate events, weddings, award shows, festivals, exhibitions, fashion shows and 70 EMG Intellectual Properties.

n

The role requires a solid combination of creative design sensibility and hands-on production expertise, with ownership from the initial brief and concept development through design detailing, fabrication, workshop supervision and final on-ground execution.

n

Work Experience

n

6+ years of experience in set design, event design, spatial design, production, fabrication or experiential design, preferably within the Events, Weddings, Entertainment, Exhibitions or Live Entertainment industry.

Key Responsibilities

n

1. Creative Direction & Set Design

n

n
- Develop set concepts, décor themes, installations and experiential elements while maintaining design consistency across the project.
n
- Ensure designs are aesthetically strong, practical and suitable for fabrication and execution.
n
- Present and communicate design concepts clearly to internal teams, clients and external partners.
n

2. Design Development & Technical Detailing

n

n
- Convert creative concepts into detailed and executable set designs.
n
- Support in supervising 3D models, layouts, elevations, working drawings and production drawings.
n
- Ensure designs account for dimensions, structural requirements, materials, fabrication methods, installation and dismantling.
n




- Work closely with production and fabrication teams to identify practical solutions and resolve design-related challenges.
n
- Ensure design intent is maintained throughout the production process.
n

3. Production & Fabrication

n

n
- Take ownership of the complete set production and fabrication process from design handover to final execution.
n
- Work closely with fabricators, contractors, vendors and production partners to execute designs accurately.
n
- Identify appropriate materials, finishes, construction methods and fabrication techniques.
n
- Evaluate fabrication feasibility, timelines, material availability and associated costs.
n
- Conduct regular workshop visits and monitor fabrication progress.
n
- Ensure fabricated elements meet the required design, finish, quality and safety standards.
n
- Identify potential production challenges in advance and provide practical design or fabrication solutions.
n

4. Budgeting & Cost Management

n

n
- Prepare and manage budgets related to set design, fabrication, décor and production.
n
- Develop estimates for materials, manpower, fabrication, transportation, installation and dismantling.
n
- Work with vendors to negotiate costs and identify cost-effective alternatives without compromising design quality.
n




- Monitor production costs and ensure projects remain within approved budgets.
n

5. Vendor & Resource Management

n

n
- Build and maintain a strong network of fabricators, contractors, material suppliers and production vendors.
n
- Identify and engage new vendors based on project requirements.
n
- Stay updated on the latest materials, fabrication techniques, finishes, technology and production inventory available in the market.
n
- Evaluate vendor capabilities, quality, timelines and commercial viability.
n
- Manage external resources and ensure timely delivery of production requirements.
n

6. Workshop & On-Ground Execution

n

n
- Supervise fabrication and installation at workshops and event sites.
n
- Ensure the final execution accurately reflects the approved design and creative intent.
n
- Conduct quality checks at key stages of fabrication and installation.
n
- Coordinate with production, project management, creative, client servicing and other internal teams for smooth execution.
n
- Resolve on-ground design and fabrication challenges quickly and effectively.
n
- Ensure all set elements are completed within timelines and are ready for event operations.
