Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and student-focused Primary Global Perspectives & Social Studies Teacher to join our school community and teach students from Grades 4–6.

n

The successful candidate will inspire young learners to explore the world around them, understand different cultures and perspectives, develop critical-thinking skills, and make meaningful connections between classroom learning and real-world issues.

n

The ideal candidate will use inquiry-based, project-based, and collaborative learning approaches to make Social Studies and Global Perspectives engaging and relevant for primary students.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons for Grades 4–6.
n
- Teach key concepts in Social Studies, Geography, History, Civics, Culture, Environment, Sustainability, and Global Awareness.
n
- Develop students' curiosity, questioning, research, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
n
- Encourage students to explore different perspectives and develop respect for diverse cultures and communities.
n
- Use hands-on activities, discussions, storytelling, projects, presentations, fieldwork, and technology to enhance learning.
n
- Design and guide individual and group inquiry projects.
n
- Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback.
n
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
n
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
n




- Collaborate with grade-level and subject teachers to develop interdisciplinary learning experiences.
n
- Support school events, exhibitions, field trips, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
n
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding student progress and learning.
n
- Participate actively in professional development and wider school initiatives.
n

Requirements

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies, History, Geography, Humanities, or a related field.
n
- B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
n
- 2+ years of primary teaching experience preferred.
n
- Experience teaching Social Studies, Global Perspectives, Humanities, or related subjects.
n
- Solid understanding of primary education and child-centered learning.
n
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
n
- Ability to create engaging and differentiated learning experiences.
n
- Confidence using technology and digital learning resources.
n
- A passion for developing students as confident, curious, responsible, and globally aware learners.
n

Experience with any of the following will be an advantage:

- Cambridge Primary / Cambridge Global Perspectives
n
- IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
n
- CBSE or other international curricula
n
- Inquiry-based and project-based learning

- Interdisciplinary teaching
