Description
The Accounts Payable Analyst is responsible for ensuring the efficient processing of supplier invoices, monitoring open liabilities, supporting reconciliation activities, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. The role requires robust accounting knowledge, analytical capability, and attention to detail to support accurate financial reporting and timely payment execution.The successful candidate will contribute to continuous improvement of Accounts Payable processes while ensuring compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Processing
- Review supplier invoices received through the ERP system and validate payment readiness.
- Ensure invoices are processed accurately and within established controls and timelines.
- Follow up with suppliers and internal stakeholders to obtain invoices, credit notes, and supporting documentation required for payment processing.
- Coordinate collection of import-related documentation to avoid payment delays.
Accounting and Reconciliation
- Process accounting and tax correction journal entries arising from system issues, operational adjustments, or manual corrections.
- Prepare and submit Accounts Payable sub-ledgers for reconciliation activities.
- Support resolution of reconciling items and ensure timely closure.
Liability Management
- Monitor open liabilities and drive follow-up actions to resolution.
- Conduct periodic aged liability reviews with controllers and document corrective actions.
- Support root-cause analysis and closure of ageing issues.
Reporting and Analytics
- Prepare daily, monthly, and periodic payables metrics and reports.
- Analyze payable trends, open liabilities, payment status, and operational performance.
- Provide accurate data, status updates,
and exception reporting to support management decision-making.
Stakeholder Management
- Respond to payables-related queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Finance, MP&L;, Controllers, and suppliers to resolve payment and accounting issues.
- Participate in meetings and discussions to drive issue resolution and process efficiency.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CA Inter or CMA Inter qualification is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting, or Finance Operations.
- Experience with supplier invoice processing, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting activities.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and supplier invoice lifecycle management.
- Experience using ERP systems for invoice processing and financial transactions.
- Understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
