Administer and manage SolarWinds modules such as NPM Network Performance Monitor SAM Server and Application Monitor NCM Network Configuration Manager NTA NetFlow Traffic Analyzer and Orion Platform on a day to day basis.
Onboard current devices servers and applications into SolarWinds for monitoring configure thresholds alerts and dashboards.
Perform routine health checks of the SolarWinds environment including database polling engines and additional web servers.
Monitor triage and resolve alerts and incidents raised through SolarWinds in line with defined SLAs.
Create customize and maintain reports dashboards and views for various stakeholders including NOC Infra teams and Management.
Manage user access roles and permissions within the SolarWinds platform.
Troubleshoot polling issues node down alerts false positives and negatives and data collection gaps.
Perform SolarWinds patching upgrades and minor version updates in coordination with the L3 and Architecture team.
Maintain documentation for configurations SOPs alert policies and escalation matrices.
Collaborate with Network Server and Application teams to ensure accurate monitoring coverage and CI mapping.
Support integration of SolarWinds with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow and Remedy for automated incident creation.
Participate in on call and shift rotations as required to ensure 24x7 monitoring coverage.
Assist in capacity planning and performance tuning of the SolarWinds environment.
4 to 6 years of hands on experience administering SolarWinds Orion Platform and its modules including NPM SAM NCM NTA and VNQM.
Strong understanding of network fundamentals such as SNMP WMI ICMP NetFlow and syslog and server monitoring concepts.
Experience in configuring alerts thresholds dependencies and maintenance windows in SolarWinds.
Working knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration basics as it relates to monitoring agents and services.
Familiarity with SQL for backend database queries and reports since SolarWinds runs on SQL Server.
Experience handling L2 level troubleshooting including device onboarding issues polling failures alert tuning and report generation.
Knowledge of ITIL processes including Incident Problem and Change Management.
Good understanding of network devices such as routers switches and firewalls and how they are monitored.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work independently on daily operational tasks.
Good communication skills to interact with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
