Role Description

The Business Development Manager – Aerospace will be responsible for developing and growing Ibex’s new aerospace business, focused on magnesium components manufactured using low-pressure sand casting and 3D-printed sand molds and cores.

The role will involve identifying new opportunities with aerospace and defence OEMs and Tier suppliers, generating and managing RFQs, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and building long-term customer relationships. The manager will work closely with engineering, production, machining, and quality teams to evaluate customer requirements, assess manufacturability, develop quotations, and support programs from initial enquiry through prototype, qualification, and production.

Key responsibilities include market research, lead generation, customer development, contract negotiation, sales forecasting, and identifying opportunities for lightweight magnesium castings, complex geometries,



low-volume production, rapid development, localization, and import substitution.

The Business Development Manager will also represent Ibex at aerospace exhibitions, supplier events, technical presentations, and customer meetings in India and internationally.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South. Candidates with experience in aerospace, precision manufacturing, castings, machining, engineering sales, or related industries are preferred.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, key account management, or commercial roles within aerospace, defence, precision manufacturing, castings, machining, or engineering industries.
- Experience working with aerospace OEMs, Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers, or defense customers is strongly preferred.
- Good understanding of casting processes, lightweight metals, machining, manufacturing feasibility, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with magnesium alloys, sand casting, low-pressure casting, 3D sand printing, or additive manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Understanding of aerospace quality and qualification requirements such as AS9100, traceability, first-article inspection, customer audits, and documentation is preferred.
- Experience handling RFQs, quotations, costing, negotiations, contracts, and customer development.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to work closely with engineering, production, quality, and senior management teams.
- Willingness to travel within India and internationally for customer meetings, exhibitions, and business development activities.
