1. Job Purpose
n
We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Plant Head to lead the complete
n
manufacturing and plant operations of our pneumatic products manufacturing facility.
n
The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end plant management, including production,
n
production planning, quality, maintenance, engineering, process improvement, inventory
n
coordination, manpower productivity, cost control, safety, and timely dispatch.
n
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in pneumatic, hydraulic, industrial
n
automation, precision engineering, engineering components, or similar manufacturing
n
industries, with the ability to understand technical products and manage a multi-functional
n
manufacturing team.
n
The Plant Head will be expected to build a high-performance manufacturing culture, improve
n
productivity and OEE, reduce rejection and manufacturing costs, improve delivery performance,
n
and continuously enhance manufacturing processes.
n
n
2. Product & Technical Setting
n
The candidate will preferably have experience or working knowledge of products/processes
n
related to:

● Pneumatic Cylinders
n
● Pneumatic Valves
n
● FRL Units – Filter, Regulator & Lubricator
n
● Pneumatic Tubings
n
● Pneumatic Fittings
n
● Solenoid Valves
n
● Industrial Automation Components

● Customized Pneumatic Products

● Precision Engineering Components

● Assembly and testing of pneumatic products
n
● CNC/VMC machining and related manufacturing processes
n
● Pressure testing, leak testing and functional testing

● Product customization and engineering-to-production coordination

Candidates from hydraulic, industrial automation, automotive components, precision
n
engineering, machine components, or similar industries may also be considered if they
n
possess strong manufacturing leadership experience.

3. Key Responsibilities
n
A. Overall Plant & Manufacturing Management
n
● Take complete ownership of day-to-day plant operations.
n
● Plan, organize and control all manufacturing activities to achieve production, quality and
n
delivery targets.
n
● Ensure production plans are aligned with sales requirements, customer commitments
n
and available manufacturing capacity.
n
● Monitor plant capacity utilization and identify capacity expansion requirements.
n
● Establish systems for smooth coordination between Production, Planning, Quality,
n
Purchase, Stores, Maintenance, Engineering, Logistics and Sales.
n
● Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials and production resources.
n
● Develop systems to improve manufacturing productivity and operational discipline.
n
B. Production Planning & Execution
n
● Prepare and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production plans.
n
● Ensure production schedules are achieved within defined timelines.
n
● Analyze production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
n
● Improve machine utilization and production throughput.
n
● Monitor production against planned quantities and investigate deviations.
n
n
● Ensure timely completion of customized and urgent customer orders.
n
● Establish production priorities based on customer commitments and business
n
requirements.
n
● Develop capacity planning and manpower planning based on future business
n
projections.
n
C. Pneumatic Product Manufacturing
n
● Develop a strong understanding of manufacturing processes involved in pneumatic
n
products.
n
● Ensure proper manufacturing and assembly processes for cylinders, valves, FRLs,
n
fittings, tubing and customized products.
n
● Improve manufacturing processes for precision, reliability and repeatability.
n
● Ensure proper process controls for machining, assembly, testing and finishing
n
operations.
n
● Work closely with Engineering/R&D; on new product development and product
n
customization.
n
● Ensure smooth transition of new/customized products from engineering to production.
n
● Identify opportunities for standardization and modularization of customized products.
n
D. Quality Management
n
● Establish and maintain robust quality systems across the plant.
n
● Drive reduction in rejection, rework, customer complaints and process deviations.
n
● Ensure quality at every stage rather than relying only on final inspection.
n
● Establish process quality checkpoints and inspection standards.
n
● Work closely with Quality to conduct root-cause analysis and CAPA.
n
● Implement quality improvement methodologies such as 7 QC tools, Poka-Yoke, FMEA
n
and SPC wherever applicable.
n
● Ensure adherence to applicable ISO and customer-specific quality requirements.
n
● Monitor internal rejection, rework, customer rejection and warranty/complaint trends.
n
E. Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
n
● Implement and continuously improve Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma and
n
TPM initiatives.
n
● Identify and eliminate waste across production processes.
n
● Reduce cycle time, setup time, waiting time, material movement and unnecessary
n
handling.
n
● Improve OEE and machine productivity.
n
● Implement visual management systems on the shop floor.
n
n
● Establish continuous improvement projects with measurable financial and productivity
n
benefits.
n
● Encourage shop-floor employees to participate in Kaizen and improvement initiatives.
n
F. Maintenance & Machine Reliability
n
● Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance of all plant machinery and equipment.
n
● Minimize machine breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
n
● Establish preventive maintenance schedules and compliance monitoring.
n
● Monitor machine availability, MTBF and MTTR.
n
● Ensure critical spare parts are identified and maintained.
n
● Work with Maintenance/Engineering teams for machine upgrades, automation and
n
process improvements.
n
● Evaluate new machinery and technology requirements in consultation with management.
n
G. Cost Control & Productivity
n
● Control manufacturing costs without compromising product quality.
n
● Monitor and reduce material wastage, scrap, rework, energy consumption and overtime
n
costs.
n
● Improve manpower productivity and machine utilization.
n
● Identify cost-saving opportunities across manufacturing operations.
n
● Participate in annual OPEX and CAPEX budgeting.
n
● Evaluate ROI for new machinery, automation and process improvement projects.
n
● Establish productivity targets for departments and production lines.
n
H. Inventory, Stores & Supply Chain Coordination
n
● Coordinate with Purchase, Stores and Planning to ensure uninterrupted production.
n
● Maintain optimum raw material and component inventory levels.
n
● Minimize excess inventory, obsolete stock and production shortages.
n
● Improve material flow from stores to production and finished goods to dispatch.
n
● Identify recurring material shortages and take preventive action.
n
● Coordinate with Purchase for critical and long-lead-time components.
n
● Improve inventory accuracy and material traceability.
n
I. New Product Development & Customization
n
● Work closely with Sales, Engineering and R&D; for customized customer requirements.
n
● Evaluate manufacturing feasibility of customized pneumatic products.
n
● Review drawings, specifications, processes and production requirements.
n
● Ensure new products are manufacturable, cost-effective and scalable.
n
n

5. Educational Qualification
n
Mandatory / Preferred
n
● B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering – Preferred
n
● B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering may also be considered where the candidate has
n
strong manufacturing and industrial automation exposure.
n
n
● Production / Industrial Engineering candidates with relevant manufacturing experience
n
may also be considered.
n
● MBA / PGDM in Operations, Supply Chain or Business Management will be an added
n
advantage.
n
n
6. Experience Requirements
n
● 15–20 years of total professional experience
n
● Minimum 5+ years in a Plant Head / Factory Head / General Manager –
n
Manufacturing / Senior Plant Operations role is preferred.
n
● Strong hands-on experience in manufacturing operations.
n
● Experience in pneumatic, hydraulic, industrial automation, engineering components,
n
precision manufacturing, automotive components or similar industries preferred.
n
● Candidates with strong knowledge of pneumatic products will receive preference.
n
● Experience in managing a medium-to-large manufacturing workforce.
n
● Experience in production planning, quality, maintenance, cost control and operational
n
excellence.
n
