Role Overview

This role is ideal for an engineer with deep back-end and platform engineering expertise who can operate across the full application stack when needed. The primary focus is on designing and building scalable services, APIs, deployment architectures, integration frameworks, and shared platform capabilities that support multiple Protegrity products. While familiarity with modern front-end technologies is valuable, this is not a UI-specialist role.

You will own and evolve shared platform services, APIs, distributed systems, and integration capabilities that enable product interoperability, common platform functionality, cloud-native deployment patterns, and future platform scalability across Protegrity's product portfolio. In addition, working with UIUX Engineers, Architects, DevOps, QA, Product Management, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Success in this role requires strong technical ownership, practical architecture judgment, clean production-grade code, and systems that are reliable, testable, scalable, and maintainable. You should be comfortable working across the full product lifecycle, from implementation through testing, deployment, observability, performance, and production operation.

What You'll Do

- Design, build, and own back-end services, APIs, shared platform capabilities, and distributed systems that support Protegrity’s UI Shell Platform, product integration, and common service needs.

- Lead implementation for complex, high-impact systems, balancing performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and ease of integration across multiple products.

- Develop production-grade software using Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript, with a strong emphasis on back-end services, APIs, distributed systems, authentication, authorization, and platform capabilities.

- Partner with front-end engineers to deliver cohesive end-to-end user experiences,



contributing to modern UI applications where needed while primarily driving back-end and platform service implementation.

- Define and influence long-term service architecture, integration patterns, and technical standards across multiple products, helping drive consistency, scalability, and operational excellence throughout the platform.

- Build testable, production-grade software with automated coverage, validation practices, quality gates, and cloud-native deployment patterns using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm charts, and CI/CD pipelines for integrated front-end and back-end delivery.

- Define and improve service integration patterns between front-end and back-end components, ensuring predictable contracts, resilient workflows, and scalable product delivery.

- Drive reliability, observability, monitoring, and troubleshooting practices across services inside the UI Shell Platform and environments, helping teams identify root cause and resolve complex issues.

- Identify and reduce friction across build, review, testing, release, and operational workflows to support predictable, repeatable, and lower-stress delivery.

- Apply GenAI and AI-assisted development practices to improve engineering productivity, accelerate workflows, and support new product capabilities where appropriate.

What You'll Need

- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, testing, and operating production-grade software systems, with robust back-end depth across API development, distributed systems, common services, and scalable platform capabilities.

- Strong ability to work across front-end and back-end boundaries, including API contracts, authentication, authorization, data flows, service dependencies, integration behavior, and scalable distributed system design.

- Knowledge of system architecture across full-stack systems, platform services, product integrations, or cloud-native applications.

- Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python, with a track record of shipping high-quality software as a core developer and a solid understanding of modern front-end development concepts, including hands-on or working knowledge of React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SASS, or similar frameworks.

- Hands-on DevOps and cloud-native deployment skills with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines,



supported by strong software quality gates practices and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Product, QA, DevOps, and Architecture partners.

- Strong CS fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, system design, and architecture trade-offs.

- Comfort debugging complex multi-service systems across local, integration, staging, and production-like environments.

- Proven ability to influence technical direction, document decisions, and align teams around scalable engineering approaches.

- Mentors and guides others through technical leadership, design review, and thoughtful engineering practices.

Nice To Have

- Background building or supporting common services used across multiple products or teams.

- Familiarity with running services in major cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.

- Hands-on work creating and maintaining Helm charts for integrated applications with both front-end and back-end images.

- Exposure with data security, privacy, compliance, cryptography, or enterprise security-focused products.

- Experience building internal platforms, developer tooling, shared services, integration frameworks, or SaaS platform capabilities used across multiple products and engineering teams.

- Familiarity with GenAI, LLM-powered product functionality, AI-assisted development workflows, or agentic engineering tools.

- Proficiency with observability, monitoring, performance testing, load testing, and production support for large-scale systems.

- Working knowledge of code quality, security scanning, artifact management, and monitoring tools such as JFrog Xray, SonarQube, or similar platforms.
