About the Role

n

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with Australian accounting experience to support our clients across financial reporting, compliance, taxation, and business advisory functions.

n

This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, analytical, and capable of managing multiple clients while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

n

At Fig Advisory, you'll become a trusted financial partner to Australian businesses while working alongside a collaborative and high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

n

Financial Reporting & Accounting

n

n
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
n
- Manage general ledger reconciliations and journal entries
n
- Review and maintain accurate financial records
n
- Prepare management reports and financial analysis
n
- Assist clients with budgeting and cash flow reporting
n

n

Australian Tax & Compliance

n

n
- Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and payroll tax
n
- Prepare workpapers for tax returns and year-end compliance
n
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and ATO requirements
n
- Assist with FBT, GST, and other statutory obligations
n
- Liaise with Australian accountants and clients regarding compliance matters
n

Client & Business Support

n

n




- Build strong relationships with Australian clients
n
- Respond to accounting and financial enquiries professionally
n
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes
n
- Assist with audit preparation and documentation
n
- Support junior accountants and share technical knowledge where required
n

n

QualificationsSkills & Experience

n

n
- Minimum 3+ years of Australian accounting experience
n
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax compliance
n
- Experience preparing BAS, IAS, GST, and financial statements
n
- Proficient in Xero (required)
n
- Experience with MYOB or QuickBooks is an advantage
n
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
n
- Excellent written and verbal English communication
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
n
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently
n
