Role Summary :

Seeking an experienced Mainframe Storage Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise z/OS storage environments, ensuring high availability, performance, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, security, and storage automation for critical banking systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise storage infrastructure including IBM DS8000/FlashSystem, TS7700 VTL, DASD, tape systems, HSM, and storage tiering.
- Administer DFSMS (ACS routines, Storage/Data/Management Classes, Storage Groups, SMS policies).
- Monitor and tune storage performance using OMEGAMON, TPC, Sysview, and CA-Disk.
- Ensure compliance with RACF/ACF2 security controls, encryption, GDPR, and regulatory data retention requirements.
- Manage DFSMShsm, DFSMSdss, FlashCopy, PPRC/Metro Mirror, Global Mirror/XRC, backup, recovery, and DR testing.
- Perform storage provisioning, capacity planning, volume balancing, optimization, and support for FBA/CKD devices.
- Act as L3 escalation point, perform RCA, and mentor junior engineers.
- Coordinate with application teams, DBAs, security teams,



and vendors on upgrades and changes.
- Support modernization initiatives including z/OSMF, cloud/object storage integration, and Ansible/Puppet automation.

Required Qualification :

- 8-10+ years of IBM Mainframe Systems Programming and Storage Administration experience in large enterprise environments; financial services experience preferred.
- Expert knowledge of DFSMS, DFSMSdfp, DFSMShsm, DFSMSdss, and DFSMSrmm (or equivalent tools).
- Solid skills in z/OS, JCL, SMP/E, IOCDS/HCD, z/OSMF, and storage hardware configuration.
- Hands-on experience with FlashCopy, PPRC/XRC, remote replication, data migrations, DR topologies, capacity planning, and DFSMSdss DUMP/RESTORE.
- Experience with IBM DS8000, FlashSystem, TS7700, Dell/EMC, and Hitachi storage platforms.
- Proficiency with OMEGAMON, TPC, Sysview, CA-Disk, and FDR/ABR.
- Knowledge of storage encryption, RACF security, regulatory compliance, and preferably GitHub, Jenkins, Agile, JIRA, and Confluence.
