Key Responsibilities

n

1. Concrete Planning & Execution

n

n
- Plan, supervise, and control concrete pouring activities across project sites.
n
- Review concrete grades, specifications, mix designs, and technical requirements.
n
- Ensure proper batching, transportation, placement, vibration, finishing, and curing.
n
- Supervise concreting for foundations, columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, retaining walls, and other RCC structures.
n
- Develop concrete pour plans and ensure adequate resources, manpower, equipment, and materials.
n

n

2. Concrete Technology & Mix Design

n

n
- Review, evaluate, and approve concrete mix designs in coordination with QA/QC and laboratory teams.
n
- Optimize concrete mixes for strength, workability, durability, pumpability, and cost.
n
- Evaluate cement, aggregates, admixtures, water, and other concrete materials.
n
- Provide technical recommendations for high-strength, self-compacting, mass, and special concrete applications.
n
- Review trial mixes and performance results.
n

n

3. Quality Control & Testing

n

n
- Establish and monitor concrete quality-control procedures.
n
- Coordinate slump tests, cube tests, temperature checks, permeability tests, and other required testing.
n
- Ensure compliance with approved specifications, ITPs, method statements, and applicable codes.
n
- Analyze concrete test results and identify trends or deviations.
n
- Investigate low-strength concrete and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
n

n

4. Site Supervision

n

n




- Ensure readiness of reinforcement, formwork, embedded items, construction joints, and access arrangements before concrete placement.
n
- Monitor batching plant and concrete delivery operations.
n
- Ensure correct placement, vibration, finishing, and curing practices.
n
- Supervise subcontractors, concrete crews, and site engineers.
n
- Ensure concreting activities are executed safely and efficiently.
n

n

5. Technical Problem Solving

n

n
- Investigate concrete defects such as honeycombing, segregation, bleeding, cracks, voids, and surface defects.
n
- Provide technically sound solutions for concrete-related site problems.
n
- Advise on temperature control, shrinkage, thermal cracking, durability, and curing.
n
- Support investigations related to non-conforming concrete and structural concrete failures.
n
- Recommend repair and rehabilitation methodologies where required.
n

n

6. Mass & Special Concrete

n

n
- Provide technical expertise for large-volume and mass concrete pours.
n
- Develop and monitor temperature-control measures for mass concrete.
n
- Advise on high-performance, high-strength, self-compacting, and other specialized concrete.
n
- Support concrete works involving complex structural and infrastructure requirements.
n

n

7. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

n

n




- Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Civil Engineers, QA/QC teams, consultants, laboratories, batching plants, and subcontractors.
n
- Participate in technical meetings, inspections, audits, and client/consultant discussions.
n
- Review concrete-related method statements, ITPs, technical submissions, and material approvals.
n
- Provide technical guidance to project and site teams.
n

n

8. Documentation & Reporting

n

n
- Maintain concrete pour records, test reports, inspection records, and material approvals.
n
- Monitor concrete consumption, wastage, and productivity.
n
- Prepare reports for quality issues, defects, NCRs, and corrective actions.
n
- Maintain records of mix designs, trial mixes, test results, and concrete performance.
n
- Support project teams during audits and technical reviews.
n

n

Required Qualifications

n

n
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering .
n
- 18+ years of relevant experience in major construction, infrastructure, EPC, or civil contracting projects.
n
- Solid expertise in RCC and structural concrete works .
n
- Extensive knowledge of concrete technology, mix design, testing, and quality control.
n
- Strong knowledge of applicable concrete codes and standards.
n
- Experience with large-scale and high-volume concreting is highly desirable.
n

n
