Legal Executive / Legal Associate Real Estate

About the Role

Rams Real Estate is looking for a Legal Executive / Legal Associate with 23 years of experience and a strong interest in real estate and property law.

The role will primarily support the legal requirements of Joint Venture (JV) projects and sale of constructed residential apartments. Knowledge in redevelopment is an added advantage, not mandatory.

The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of property-related documentation, be comfortable coordinating with lawyers, clients, property owners and internal project teams, and have the ability to understand and explain basic legal terms in straightforward language. Would help to have basic knowledge of transfers, land extent, boundaries, UDS, Survey number, family laws etc.

The role may occasionally require working beyond regular office hours, particularly during important negotiations, registrations, document closures or transaction deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Real Estate & Property Legal Work

- Assist in legal due diligence of properties being considered for redevelopment or development.
- Review and organise property documents, title documents and supporting records.
- Assist in checking ownership, title and encumbrance-related documents.
- Identify basic legal risks or gaps in property documentation and escalate them to manager/legal counsel.
- Coordinate with external advocates and legal consultants for title verification and legal opinions.
- Maintain proper records of legal documents for each project.

2. Redevelopment & JV Projects

- Assist with documentation relating to Joint Ventures, Joint Development Agreements and redevelopment projects.
- Support review and coordination of agreements between landowners,



developers and other stakeholders.
- Understand basic commercial and legal terms relating to development rights, sharing arrangements, consideration and obligations of the parties.
- Track pending legal documentation, approvals, registrations and compliances.
- Coordinate with property owners, advocates, consultants and internal project teams.

3. Apartment Sales & Documentation

- Assist with documentation relating to the sale of constructed apartments.
- Review basic sale-related documents and ensure required information is available.
- Coordinate with customers, advocates, banks and internal sales/project teams wherever required.
- Assist with documentation for agreements, registration and handover-related processes.
- Maintain a systematic database of executed and pending legal documents.

4. Legal Documentation & Coordination

- Draft/review basic letters, notices, undertakings and legal correspondence under supervision.
- Maintain trackers for agreements, registrations, legal opinions and pending documents.
- Follow up with advocates, government offices, consultants and other stakeholders.
- Ensure documents are properly filed and easily retrievable.
- Support management in preparing information required for legal discussions and negotiations.

Note: The candidate is not expected to be an expert in all the above. However, they should be familiar with the terminology and understand the basic purpose and practical application of these concepts.

Candidate Profile

Essential

23 years of relevant experience in real estate/property law, legal documentation or a real estate company.

LL.B.



qualification preferred/required.

Practical understanding of property law and real estate documentation.

Knowledge of sale deeds, agreements, title documents, EC, POA, JDA/JV documentation and property due diligence.

Good documentation and follow-up skills.

Ability to coordinate effectively with advocates, property owners, customers and internal teams.

Good written and verbal communication.

Strong attention to detail.

Comfortable working with MS Word, Excel and basic documentation/record-keeping systems.

Willingness to work extended hours when required for transaction closures, registrations, negotiations or urgent legal matters.

Preferred

Exposure to residential apartment sales.

Experience coordinating with registration offices, advocates and property consultants.

Basic understanding of RERA and Tamil Nadu property-related processes.

Ability to independently track multiple legal matters and follow them through to closure.

What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is practical, detail-oriented and willing to learn, rather than someone who only has theoretical legal knowledge.

The person should be able to look at a property document and understand:

What is this document? Why is it required? Who has signed it? What right does it create? What risk/gap should we check? What action is required next?

Compensation

Approximately 30,000 CTC per month, depending on experience, knowledge and suitability for the role.
