We are looking for an experienced VMC Programmer Cum Operator who can independently handle programming, setup, tooling, prove-out and operation of VMC machines for manufacturing precision and heavy engineering components.
The candidate should be capable of reading engineering drawings and converting them into productive CNC programs while maintaining dimensional accuracy, surface finish and productivity.
### Key Responsibilities
Programming
- Develop CNC programs for VMC machines using Fanuc/Mitsubishi/other CNC controls.
- Program components from engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Prepare programs using G-code/M-code, canned cycles and subprograms.
- Optimize cutting parameters, tool paths and machining cycles.
- Modify and troubleshoot existing CNC programs.
Machine Setup
- Independently perform machine setup and job changeover.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, holders and inserts.
- Set tool offsets, work offsets and coordinate systems.
- Perform tool setting and workpiece alignment.
- Select appropriate work-holding fixtures and clamping methods.
- Conduct program prove-out and first-piece inspection.
Machining
- Machine precision components such as:
- Crusher components
- Bearing housings
- Shafts and shaft-related components
- Plates and fabricated components
- Housings
- Rings and spacers
- Heavy engineering components
- Handle large and heavy components requiring proper clamping and machining strategy.
- Maintain required dimensional tolerances and surface finish.
Quality
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, tolerances and machining symbols.
- Inspect components using:
- Vernier caliper
- Micrometer
- Height gauge
- Bore gauge
- Dial indicator
- Vernier height gauge
- Other precision measuring instruments
- Ensure first-off and in-process inspection.
- Identify machining defects and take corrective action.
Production
- Achieve production targets while maintaining quality.
- Reduce cycle time through tool-path and cutting-parameter optimization.
- Monitor tool wear and replace tools at appropriate intervals.
- Maintain machine, tooling and production records.
- Follow 5S, safety and shop-floor discipline.

## Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of VMC machining

## Experience
5-10 years of relevant experience in VMC programming and operation, preferably in:
Candidates with strong hands-on experience in both programming and machine operation will be preferred.

ITI / Diploma Mechanical / Production / Tool & Die / Machining
Relevant technical certification with strong practical experience may also be considered.
