Role Summary n
The Lead ID / Sr. ID serves as the instructional anchor for the project team, overseeing the quality and consistency of all instructional artifacts across multiple CTE clusters.
n
Key Responsibilities & Expectations n n
1. Instructional Design: Apply instructional design principles, learning concepts, objectives, content chunking, and learning flow to create effective learning experiences.
n
2. K-12 US Content Development: Write transparent, simple, and learner-friendly content using age- and grade-appropriate language for middle school and high school learners in the U.S.
n
3. Source Analysis: Read and comprehend source content to identify key ideas and convert them into structured, meaningful learning experiences.
n
4. Standards Alignment: Align content, activities, and storyboards to required state standards in the U.S.
n
5. Storyboarding: Create detailed storyboards mapped to defined state standards with clear directions for developers.
n
6. Learning Deliverables: Design various learning elements, including micro-learnings, videos, simulations, scenarios, job aids, course guides, interactions, and learner activities.
n
7. Workplace Scenarios:
Build authentic workplace scenarios connecting concepts to real-life career and job situations.
n
8. Learning Frameworks: Apply learning models such as 5E and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) within storyboards and designs.
n
9. Assessments: Design assessments that check understanding and directly match learning objectives and standards.
n
10. Accessibility: Follow accessibility best practices in storyboarding, including writing alt text.
n
11. AI Integration: Responsibly use AI tools to plan, draft, improve, check, and edit learning content for accuracy, flow, clarity, learner fit, and instructional value.
n
12. Authoring Tools & Technology: Understand authoring and design tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate, Vyond, Camtasia, and PowerPoint.
n
13. Feedback Implementation: Process and incorporate feedback from SMEs, Copy Editors (CEs), and other reviewers using strong instructional judgment.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications n n
- Sector Experience: 4–10+ years in instructional design, with extensive experience in Career and Technical Education (CTE), vocational training content, K-12 education, or the U.S. education system.
n
- CTE Expertise: Proven experience in middle and high school CTE pedagogy and career exploration.
n
- Pedagogical Fluency: Proficiency in the 5E Instructional Model and the Gradual Release of Responsibility framework.
n
- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-recognized certifications and state-specific CTE frameworks (e.g., TEKS).
n
- Modular Design: Ability to design self-contained, objective-driven modules that can be unbundled or stacked for varied instructional needs.
