Job Description
Kazo Brands is looking for a creative, trend-conscious, and commercially driven Women’s Western Wear Designer to join our design team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of contemporary women’s fashion and western wear, with the ability to translate global trends and customer insights into commercially viable designs aligned with the Kazo brand aesthetic.

- Research and analyse global and Indian fashion trends, with a strong focus on women’s western wear , including dresses, tops, shirts, skirts, trousers, co-ords, jumpsuits, jackets, and occasion wear.
n
- Track international fashion weeks, emerging trends, competitor collections, social media, fashion influencers, and customer preferences to identify relevant trends for the Kazo customer.
n
- Develop seasonal mood boards, trend boards, colour palettes, fabric directions, and collection concepts.
n
- Conceptualise and develop fashionable, trend-led, and commercially viable western wear styles and silhouettes.
n
- Create designs for women’s contemporary, party, occasion, and everyday western wear in line with Kazo’s brand positioning.
n
- Develop new silhouettes, prints, colour combinations, embellishments, embroidery, surface details, and garment constructions.
n
- Create detailed fashion sketches, technical drawings, artworks, and design sheets for product development.
n
- Ensure collections have a strong fashion point of view while offering the right balance of trend, wearability, and commercial appeal.

- Work closely with the merchandising, sourcing, sampling, production, and buying teams throughout the product development process.
n
- Coordinate with fabric and trim vendors to source and develop appropriate materials, embellishments, trims, and finishes.
n
- Review samples and provide detailed feedback on fit, silhouette, fabric, colour, construction, proportions, finishing, and overall design .
n
- Conduct regular sample reviews and ensure designs are developed accurately from concept to final production.
n
- Ensure final products are consistent with approved designs, quality standards, brand aesthetics, and customer expectations.
n
- Maintain a strong understanding of fabrics suitable for western wear, including woven, knit, denim, satin, crepe, georgette, lace, and other fashion fabrics.
n
- Incorporate market feedback, sales performance, customer insights, and commercial inputs into future design development.
n
- Ensure designs are aligned with target customers, price points, production feasibility, and business objectives.
n
- Manage multiple styles and collection developments simultaneously while ensuring timely completion of design deliverables.
n
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design, sampling, fit, and production challenges.
n
- Contribute fresh and innovative ideas to strengthen Kazo’s position in women’s western fashion and occasion wear .

Requirements:
n
n
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Fashion Design or a related field.
n
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in women’s western wear/fashion design , preferably with a fashion retail or lifestyle brand.
n
- Solid understanding of women’s western wear, including dresses, tops, shirts, skirts, trousers, co-ords, jumpsuits, jackets, and occasion wear .
n
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, fabrics, silhouettes, colours, garment construction, and product development.
n
- Strong fashion illustration and design development skills.
n
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop ; knowledge of CorelDRAW or other relevant design software is an advantage.
n
- Good understanding of the Indian fashion and retail market and the contemporary fashion consumer.
n
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
n
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong sense of aesthetics and fashion.
n
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven workplace.
n
- Creative mindset with a strong balance of fashion sensibility, commercial understanding, and execution skills .
