About the Role n

BuildAmbit is looking for an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) — Interior Design to lead the development and delivery of our Interior Design learning ecosystem.

n

The SME will be responsible for bringing strong industry expertise into our curriculum, ensuring that the program is practical, relevant, industry-aligned, and focused on the skills required by today's Interior Design professionals.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Own the Interior Design subject matter across BuildAmbit's learning programs.
n
- Design and structure curriculum, modules, learning outcomes, assignments, and practical projects.
n
- Develop and review course content to ensure it meets industry standards and current professional practices.
n
- Bring strong practical knowledge of interior design, space planning, materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, detailing, and design processes .
n
- Develop industry-relevant case studies, projects, exercises, and real-world scenarios.
n
- Work closely with the Content and Learning teams to convert subject expertise into engaging learning experiences.
n
- Identify the latest trends, technologies, tools, and workflows shaping the Interior Design industry.
n
- Ensure the curriculum reflects current industry expectations and employability requirements.
n
- Support the creation of masterclasses, workshops, webinars, and expert-led sessions.
n
- Review and quality-check learning content, projects, assessments, and learner submissions.
n
- Collaborate with industry professionals and practitioners to strengthen the program's industry relevance.
n
- Support learner queries and provide subject-matter guidance where required.
n
- Contribute to marketing initiatives through expert insights, videos, social media content,



and industry-focused thought leadership.

- Participate in course launches, industry events, and other BuildAmbit initiatives related to Interior Design.
n

What We’re Looking For nn
- Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline .
n
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience in Interior Design preferred.
n
- Strong understanding of professional Interior Design workflows and project execution.
n
- Practical experience with design documentation, space planning, materials, detailing, and industry standards.
n
- Proficiency in relevant design tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Revit, Enscape, V-Ray, or equivalent tools .
n
- Strong communication, presentation, and teaching abilities.
n
- Ability to simplify complex design concepts and explain them effectively.
n
- Strong understanding of the skills and competencies expected by Interior Design employers.
n
- Passion for education, mentoring, and developing industry-ready professionals.
n
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
n

Good to Have nn
- Experience in teaching, training, mentoring, or curriculum development.
n
- Experience working with leading architecture/interior design firms or real estate/development companies.
n
- Strong professional portfolio with completed Interior Design projects.
n
- Experience with BIM/digital design workflows.
n
- Existing industry network across Interior Design and AEC organisations.
n
- Comfortable appearing on camera for masterclasses, social media, and educational content.
