The Skilled Tailor is responsible for stitching and assembling garments according to approved samples, specifications, measurements, quality standards, and production targets. The tailor must operate sewing machines efficiently while maintaining valuable workmanship, quality, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Stitch and assemble garments according to approved samples, specifications, and work instructions.

- Operate industrial sewing machines such as Single Needle, Overlock, Flatlock, Feed-off-the-arm, Buttonhole, Button Attach, etc., as applicable.

- Perform assigned sewing operations accurately and efficiently.

- Maintain required stitch quality, seam strength, measurements, and appearance.

- Check fabric panels and components before stitching.

- Identify stitching and garment defects and report them to the supervisor/quality checker.

- Maintain the required production target while ensuring quality.

- Follow approved construction methods and sewing techniques.

- Handle different types of fabrics and garment styles as per production requirements.

- Ensure proper alignment, seam allowance, stitching, and finishing.

- Carry out minor machine adjustments such as thread tension and needle changes where required.

- Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of the sewing machine and workplace.

- Follow all quality, safety,



production and housekeeping procedures.

- Minimize fabric damage, thread wastage, rework and rejection.

- Coordinate with the Quality Checker and Line Supervisor to resolve quality issues.

- Complete assigned operations within the required production time.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of garment stitching and construction.

- Strong sewing and tailoring skills.

- Ability to operate industrial sewing machines.

- Good understanding of garment measurements and specifications.

- Ability to identify common stitching defects.

- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

- Ability to achieve production targets without compromising quality.

- Knowledge of different fabrics and sewing techniques is an advantage.

- Ability to work as part of a production team.

Qualification & Experience

Qualification:

- No specific educational qualification is mandatory.

- ITI/Tailoring/Garment-related training will be an advantage.

Experience:

- 2–5 years of relevant experience in garment manufacturing/tailoring.

- Candidates with strong practical sewing skills may be considered even without formal qualifications.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
