Job Overview:
n
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on finance leader to serve as Director Finance and own the company's financial strategy, planning, performance management, fundraising support, investor and board reporting, and business decision support. The Director will
n
partner closely with the founders and leadership team to shape financial direction, enable sustainable growth, strengthen financial governance, and build a scalable finance function. This role requires a high degree of ownership and judgment, translating business priorities
n
into financial plans, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing transparent recommendations to the leadership team.
n
1. Financial Strategy & Leadership-:
n
n
- Own and drive the company's financial strategy, long-term planning, and capital strategy in partnership with the founders and leadership team.
n
- Translate company strategy and operating priorities into financial plans, targets, budgets, and measurable performance metrics.
n
- Build and maintain robust financial models covering revenue, costs, headcount, cash flow, runway, profitability, and multiple growth scenarios.
n
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations on growth plans, expansion, pricing, margins, investments, and business model improvements.
n
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to the founders and leadership team, challenging assumptions and highlighting trade-offs, risks, and opportunities.
n

2. Fundraising, Investor & Board Management-:
n
n
- Lead the finance workstream for fundraising activities, including financial models, projections, valuation scenarios, data rooms, diligence, and investor materials.
n
- Partner with founders on fundraising strategy, capital requirements, financing options, and investor engagement.
n
- Own the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of investor and board reporting.
n
- Serve as a key finance point of contact during investor diligence and financial discussions.
n
- Establish consistent financial metrics and reporting that provide investors and the board with a clear view of business performance.
n
n
3. FP&A;, Budgeting & Performance Management-:
n
n
- Own the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
n
- Establish a disciplined monthly and quarterly performance review process and track actuals against plan, identifying drivers and corrective actions.
n
- Monitor cash flow, runway, working capital, burn, and capital allocation, ensuring leadership has clear visibility into liquidity.
n
- Develop business dashboards and KPI reporting for revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, headcount, productivity, customer economics,
and other critical metrics.
n
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, operational efficiency, and profitable growth.
n
n
4. Financial Governance, Controls & Risk Management-:
n
n
- Provide high-level oversight of accounting, tax, compliance, audit, treasury, and statutory financial processes in partnership with internal and external teams.
n
- Build and strengthen financial controls, approval frameworks, policies, and processes appropriate for a high-growth company.
n
- Ensure financial data is accurate, reliable, and decision-ready, with clear ownership and accountability.
n
- Identify, assess, and proactively manage financial, operational, and business risks.
n
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, banking partners, and other financial service providers as required.
n
n
5. Leadership & Finance Function Building-:
n
n
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team, setting clear goals, ownership, and performance expectations.
n
- Build a scalable finance organization, including processes, systems, reporting structures, and talent required to support the company's next stage of growth.
n
- Delegate effectively while maintaining appropriate oversight of critical financial activities and deliverables.
n
- Create a culture of financial discipline, accountability, business partnership, and continuous improvement.
n
- Oversee finance operations at a strategic level without being involved in routine day-to-day accounting activities.
n
n
6. Business Partnering & Strategic Decision Support-:
n
n
- Partner with Sales, Operations, HR, Product, and other functional leaders on planning, resource allocation, and business decisions.
n
- Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, investments, expansion plans, and strategic initiatives from a financial and commercial perspective.
n
- Support pricing, deal economics, customer profitability, unit economics, and contract related financial decisions.
n
- Provide scenario analysis and financial recommendations for major business decisions.
n
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that improve business performance and financial outcomes.
n
n
7. Systems, Data & Process Excellence-:
n
n
- Establish scalable finance systems, reporting processes,
and data infrastructure to support growth.
n
- Improve automation, reporting accuracy, close processes, forecasting discipline, and management visibility.
n
- Define and maintain a single source of truth for key financial and operating metrics.
n
- Continuously improve financial processes and controls as the organization scales.
n
n
8. Success in the Role-:
n
n
- The leadership team has timely, accurate, and actionable visibility into financial performance and business drivers.
n
- Forecasts, budgets, cash flow, and runway are reliable and actively used to make business decisions.
n
- Fundraising and investor and board reporting are executed with high quality, rigor, and credibility.
n
- The finance function is scalable, well-controlled, and capable of supporting rapid growth.
n
- Finance operates as a strategic business partner rather than only a reporting function.
n
- Key financial risks are identified early and addressed proactively.
n

Requirements:
n
n
- CA / MBA Finance / CFA preferred.
n
- 815 years of progressive experience in Finance, Strategic Finance, FP&A;, Investment Banking, Consulting, Corporate Finance, or Startup Finance, with demonstrated leadership experience.
n
- Strong experience in financial strategy, FP&A;, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and business planning.
n
- Proven experience supporting fundraising, investor management, board reporting, and financial due diligence.
n
- Experience partnering directly with founders, CEOs, senior leadership teams, and/or boards.
n
- Strong understanding of business metrics, unit economics, pricing, margins, and growth-stage financial management.
n
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead finance teams and establish scalable processes and controls.
n
- Strong analytical, commercial, strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
n
- Startup, SaaS, healthcare technology, AI, or high-growth company experience preferred.
n
