Position Purpose The Supply Chain Manager owns end-to-end supply chain performance for SAIFCO — from paddy procurement through milling, quality assurance, warehousing and logistics — ensuring consistent product availability, cost efficiency and quality compliance across the distribution network.
The role is responsible for planning, vendor management, inventory control, logistics execution, problem-solving and team leadership, working closely with the Sales & Distribution team (ASM/ADM network) to ensure demand is met reliably and profitably.
Primary Objectives
- Ensure uninterrupted paddy / raw material procurement at optimal cost.
- Maintain processing, milling and quality standards.
- Optimize warehousing, inventory levels and storage cost.
- Ensure timely, cost-effective logistics to depots, distributors and markets (including Delhi NCR).
- Build reliable vendor, mill and transporter relationships.
- Ensure statutory and quality compliance (FSSAI and related certifications).
- Support the sales team with consistent stock availability and order fulfillment.
Scope of Responsibility The Supply Chain Manager owns complete responsibility for:
- Prepare procurement plan aligned with sales / demand forecast.
- Identify, empanel and negotiate with vendors and mills.
- Plan seasonal paddy sourcing.
- Monitor price trends and define buying strategy.
- Coordinate contract / farmer tie-ups where applicable.
- Plan and manage raw-material purchase budget.
2. Processing & Quality Management
- Coordinate milling and processing schedules with partner mills.
- Monitor milling yield and minimize wastage.
- Ensure grading, sorting and quality-testing standards are met.
- Implement quality-control checkpoints at each stage.
- Oversee packaging specifications and standards.
3. Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Maintain optimum stock levels for raw material and finished goods.
- Plan warehouse space at the Delhi depot and regional locations.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through regular stock audits.
- Implement FIFO / FEFO stock rotation.
- Minimize storage, handling and spoilage losses.
4. Logistics & Distribution
- Plan inbound (mill to warehouse) and outbound (warehouse to distributor/depot) logistics.
- Optimize freight cost and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with transporters and 3PL partners.
- Ensure On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery to the sales network.
- Track and resolve dispatch and delivery issues.
5. Team Leadership
- Lead procurement, warehouse and logistics teams.
- Set KPIs and monitor team performance.
- Drive training and capability building.
- Build an accountable, disciplined operations culture.
6. Decision Making
Take decisions related to
- Vendor selection and rates (within approval matrix)
- Stock transfers between locations
- Emergency procurement or logistics arrangements
- Warehouse layout and storage allocation
- Escalation handling

7. Problem Solving
Resolve issues relating to
- Supply shortages
- Quality deviations
- Price fluctuations
- Transport delays or damages
