Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Store Incharge to manage the receipt, storage, issue, and inventory control of construction materials at the project site. The selected candidate will ensure the timely availability of materials, accurate stock records, proper documentation, and effective coordination with the procurement, accounts, engineering, and site execution teams.

The role requires strong knowledge of construction materials, valuable numerical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced project environment. Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day operations of the construction site store.
- Receive construction materials, tools, equipment, and other supplies from vendors.
- Verify the quantity and condition of materials against purchase orders, delivery challans, invoices, and approved specifications.
- Report shortages, excess quantities, damages, or quality discrepancies to the procurement and project teams.
- Ensure proper unloading, identification, labeling, stacking, and storage of materials.
- Issue materials to site teams only against approved material requisitions or issue slips.
- Maintain records of all inward and outward material movements.
- Maintain stock registers, bin cards, material ledgers, issue slips, return slips, and gate passes.




- Monitor stock levels and raise material indents or purchase requisitions as per site requirements.
- Ensure timely availability of cement, steel, sand, aggregates, pipes, electrical items, plumbing materials, safety items, tools, and other construction materials.
- Maintain daily records of important materials such as cement, steel, diesel, and other high-value items.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock verification.
- Reconcile physical stock with records or ERP entries and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock consumption and inventory reports.
- Track material consumption against project requirements, drawings, BOQs, and approved estimates.
- Follow FIFO principles wherever applicable to prevent deterioration, wastage, and obsolescence.
- Maintain proper records of returned, damaged, surplus, slow-moving, and non-moving materials.
- Coordinate with site engineers, purchase, accounts, vendors, subcontractors, and project management for material planning and availability.
- Maintain records of company-owned tools, equipment, assets, and consumable items issued at the site.
- Ensure proper control of material movement through gate passes and challans.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate store records and stock details.
- Ensure cleanliness, housekeeping, security,



and safe storage conditions within the store area.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and material handling guidelines.
- Supervise store assistants, helpers, and other staff working under the stores department.
- Perform other store and inventory-related duties assigned by the reporting manager.

Required Skills

- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction site stores or project inventory management.
- Good knowledge of construction materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
- Experience in material receipt, inspection, storage, issue, and reconciliation.
- Good numerical and mathematical ability for stock calculations and material reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, stock registers, inventory reports, and basic ERP or store-management software.
- Ability to prepare material indents, GRNs, stock statements, issue slips, and consumption reports.
- Good knowledge of purchase orders, delivery challans, invoices, and material requisitions.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to identify shortages, damages, discrepancies, and wastage.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work at a construction site and under pressure.
- Honest, disciplined, responsible, and capable of maintaining proper documentation.

Qualification

- Any Graduate / Diploma in Stores, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Candidates with relevant construction site experience will be preferred.
