Role Overview:
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the execution, supervision, and maintenance of critical electrical infrastructure in a data centre, including HT/LT systems, transformers, UPS, batteries, DG sets, and power distribution systems. The role involves vendor/contractor coordination, technical drawing review, testing & commissioning, quality compliance, and ensuring reliable and uninterrupted power availability. Requires strong knowledge of data centre electrical systems, redundancy, and critical power operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execution and supervision of electrical works at site against approved GFC drawings.
- Technical review of vendor GTP / QAP,
drawings and BOQ deviations.
- Contractor and OEM coordination, progress tracking, quality and safety compliance.
- Material inspection, receipt checklists and installation checklists.
- Support to testing, commissioning and handover documentation.
Key Requirements: Must Have
- B.E. / B.Tech – Electrical or Electrical & Electronics (full-time). Diploma with 8 years may be considered.
- 33 kV / 11 kV HT systems – RMU, VCB panels, protection relays, HT cabling and terminations
- Transformers (dry type / cast resin), LT panels, ACB / MCCB switchgear, bus duct
- UPS systems (N N / 2N), battery banks (VRLA / Li-ion), STS, PDU and busway distribution
- DG sets with synchronisation, AMF panels and fuel systems
- Earthing, lightning protection and EMS / BMS integration
- Testing & commissioning – IST, SAT, IR / HiPot, relay coordination, load bank testing, ATP witnessing
- Reading and checking SLDs, cable schedules, load calculations and panel GA drawings.
Preferred Baackground:
- Experience on Tier III / Uptime-certified or Rated-3 facilities.
- Exposure to N 1 and 2N redundancy topologies and PUE-driven design.
- Vendor / OEM interface – Delta, ABB, Schneider, Voltamp, Riello, Vertiv.
- Familiarity with high-density and liquid-cooled deployments (advantage, not mandatory).
- CDCP / CDCS or equivalent data center certification.
