Job Purpose /n To plan, organize, coordinate, and manage sports and physical education activities for students and staff, promote participation in sports, develop university teams, and ensure effective utilization and maintenance of sports facilities. /n Key Responsibilities: /n Sports Activities & Events /n /n

- Plan and conduct inter-departmental, inter-collegiate, and university-level sports events.

/n

- Organize annual sports meets, tournaments, competitions, and recreational activities.

/n

- Coordinate participation of university teams in inter-university and external competitions.

/n /n Team Management & Coaching /n /n

- Identify and nurture talented student athletes.

/n

- Form and manage university sports teams.

/n

- Coordinate coaching, practice schedules, and training programs.

/n

- Engage qualified coaches/trainers wherever required.

/n /n Sports Facilities & Equipment /n /n

- Supervise sports grounds, courts, gymnasium, and other sports facilities.

/n

- Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and availability of sports equipment.

/n

- Maintain inventory and records of sports equipment and assets.

/n

- Recommend procurement and replacement of sports equipment.

/n /n Student Participation & Development /n /n

- Encourage maximum student participation in sports and physical activities.

/n

- Maintain records of student athletes and their achievements.

/n

- Support students participating in university, state, national, and other recognized competitions.

/n

- Coordinate sports scholarships, awards, and recognition for outstanding performers, wherever applicable.

/n /n Administration & Compliance /n /n





- Maintain records of sports activities, competitions, results, expenditure, and achievements.

/n

- Prepare annual sports calendars, budgets, reports, and proposals.

/n

- Coordinate with university departments, colleges, sports associations, and external organizations.

/n

- Ensure compliance with applicable university, UGC, AIU, and relevant sports-body guidelines.

/n /n Budget & Procurement /n /n

- Prepare the annual sports budget in coordination with the concerned authority.

/n

- Monitor expenditure and ensure effective utilization of allocated funds.

/n

- Coordinate procurement of sports equipment, uniforms, kits, and other requirements as per university procedures.

/n /n Safety & Discipline /n /n

- Ensure appropriate safety arrangements during sports activities and events.

/n

- Monitor discipline and adherence to sports rules and university policies.

/n

- Coordinate first-aid and emergency support during major sporting events.

/n /n Staff & Campus Engagement /n /n

- Organize fitness, wellness, and recreational sports activities for university staff.

/n

- Promote a healthy and active campus setting.

/n /n Qualification & Experience /n /n

- Essential: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed.) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

/n

- Preferred: Relevant sports coaching certification and/or specialization in a recognized sport.

/n

- Experience: Relevant experience in university/college sports administration, coaching, physical education, or sports management.

/n

- Experience in organizing inter-collegiate/inter-university sports events will be an advantage.
