Job description:

The Assistant Professor of Legal Studies will contribute to the academic mission of the department through high-quality teaching, scholarly research, and service. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in legal studies and related fields, maintain an active research agenda, advise students, and participate in departmental and university committees.

Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Instruction
Teach a range of courses in legal studies, such as:
Introduction to Law
Constitutional Law
Business Law
Criminal Justice
Legal Research & Writing
Ethics and Qualified Responsibility
Develop course syllabi, assignments, exams, and instructional materials.
Create an inclusive, engaging, and academically rigorous classroom workplace.
Utilize effective instructional methods, including active learning and technology-enhanced teaching.
Mentor and advise students on academic progress and career planning.
Research & Scholarship
Conduct original scholarly research in the field of law or legal studies.




Publish articles, book chapters, or monographs in peer-reviewed journals or academic presses.
Present research at national and international conferences.
Seek external funding or grants, when applicable.
Service to Department and University
Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
Participate in curriculum development and program assessment.
Assist with student recruitment, retention, and outreach activities.
Contribute to accreditation processes or program reviews.
Community & Professional Engagement
Engage with legal organizations, skilled associations, and community partners.
Provide expertise for public events, workshops, or continuing education programs.
Collaborate on interdisciplinary initiatives with other departments.

Qualifications Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or terminal degree in Legal Studies, Law , (completed ).
UGC NET Qualified.
