Role and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibility: The IT Infrastructure Manager – Server Administration is responsible for strategically overseeing all server environments, encompassing planning, configuration, security, and maintenance of both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure. This leadership role requires advanced technical capability in server management, AWS & Linux expertise, cross-team collaboration, vendor escalation, strong SLA discipline, and a metrics-driven approach for team and system performance.
Key Responsibilities Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing reliability of physical/virtual server infrastructure, with focus on Linux (RHEL) and AWS Cloud.
Oversee all aspects of server lifecycle management: installation, configuration, patching, backup, and troubleshooting.
Ensure robust network, storage, and security controls to safeguard company data and maintain compliance.
Escalate issues to OEMs/vendors and ensure closure to satisfaction; manage vendor relationships and technical escalations.
Monitor and drive SLA adherence for incident resolution, system uptime, and IT service delivery.
Proactively generate and review Management Information System (MIS) reports, including recommendations for security red alerts, SLAs, uptime improvements, and cost optimization.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, applications,
and security teams to align IT infrastructure to business needs.
Team Leadership & Performance Metrics
Oversee the IT Infrastructure & Server Administration team’s performance through well-defined KPIs and SLAs (e.g., incident response/resolution, server uptime, patch compliance, escalations handled).
Use dashboards and regular audits to track team productivity, efficiency, and service quality.
Conduct performance reviews, coach for improvement, and drive continuous career development within the team.
Foster a metrics-driven culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Align team goals with organizational objectives for measurable gains in uptime, security, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline (Master’s preferred)
Minimum 10 years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, with 5+ years managing server/admin teams
Amazon Web Services (AWS) certification – Solutions Architect or SysOps Admin
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE/RHEL)
Expertise in Linux server administration, virtualization, networking, and storage infrastructure
Experience with performance monitoring, IT service management, and SLA reporting
Strong vendor/OEM escalation and team mentoring experience
Outstanding communication, reporting, and cross-functional leadership skills
