Manual Surface & Cylindrical Grinder Operator
Set up and operate Manual grinding machines like Surface or Cylindrical to produce precision parts like steel rolls, shafts, and other components according to blueprints and specifications.
Monitor and adjust machine operations to achieve the desired dimensions and surface finish with a high degree of accuracy.
Perform quality inspections on finished products using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, verniers, and bore gauges.
Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the grinding equipment, including changing or dressing grinding wheels as needed.
Ensure production targets are met while adhering to quality standards and safety protocols.
Provide guidance to operators and resolve technical issues that arise during production.
Qualifications and skills
Education:
An Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is typically required for operator-level roles.
Experience: Most jobs require 3-5years of hands-on experience in cylindrical grinding or Surface Grinding machining operations.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
Understanding of grinding principles, wheel selection, speeds, and feeds is often needed for more advanced roles or setting positions.
