Job Description – R&D; Executive (Cosmetic Manufacturing)

Position: R&D; Executive – Cosmetic Formulation
Department: Research & Development
Industry: Cosmetic / Personal Care Manufacturing
Location: Mohali/Chandigarh
Experience: 3–7 years (as required)

Key Responsibilities:
Current Product Development
Develop formulations for skincare, haircare, body care, and personal care products (creams, lotions, serums, shampoos, facewash, sunscreen, etc.).
Conduct ingredient research and create innovative, cost-effective formulations.
Prepare laboratory samples/prototypes for internal evaluation and client approval.
Modify or improve existing formulations based on feedback.
Raw Material & Ingredient Management
Evaluate new raw materials and maintain ingredient specifications.
Work with suppliers to source recent and sustainable cosmetic ingredients.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
Stability & Compatibility Testing
Conduct stability, pH, viscosity, microbial, and performance testing.




Maintain detailed testing records and prepare technical reports.
Identify and resolve formulation issues (separation, texture, fragrance, etc.).
Manufacturing Support
Scale up lab batches to pilot and production batches.
Provide technical support during bulk manufacturing.
Ensure batch reproducibility and quality consistency.
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare PIF, COA, MSDS, TDS, and product specification sheets.
Maintain R&D; logs, trial reports, SOPs, and formula records.
Ensure all formulations comply with BIS, FDA, GMP, and regulatory norms.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with QC, QA, Production, Packaging & Procurement teams.
Assist in cost optimization for recent and existing products.
Support marketing with product claims and technical content.

Required Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of cosmetic chemistry, surfactants, emollients, emulsifiers, actives, and preservatives.
