Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced SEO professional with a strong background in News Publishing to drive organic growth across our English digital news platforms. The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in Technical SEO, News SEO, Google Discover, Top Stories, Core Web Vitals, and audience growth strategies. The role requires close collaboration with Editorial, Product, and Technology teams to improve search visibility, traffic, and user engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute SEO strategies for English news websites.
2. Optimize content for Google Search, Google Discover, Top Stories, and News surfaces.
3. Conduct keyword research, trend analysis, and content opportunity identification.
4. Monitor and improve indexing, crawling, and website health through Google Search Console and SEO tools.
5. Work closely with editorial teams to optimize headlines, content structure, metadata, and internal linking.
6. Analyze Google Core Updates and implement recovery and growth strategies.
7. Manage technical SEO audits including site architecture, schema markup, canonicalization, redirects, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and Core Web Vitals.
8. Track and improve performance across News, Evergreen, Explainer, and Feature content.
9. Monitor competitor strategies and identify growth opportunities.

Create regular SEO performance reports and actionable insights for stakeholders.
11. Implement and optimize structured data for news content.
12. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to resolve SEO-related technical issues.
13. Drive Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and AI Search visibility initiatives.

Required Skills:

1. 5+ years of SEO experience, with at least 3 years in News Publishing.
2. Strong understanding of Google News, Discover, Top Stories, and News SEO best practices.
3. Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and similar SEO tools.
4. Expertise in Technical SEO and website performance optimization.
5. Solid knowledge of schema markup and structured data implementation.
6. Experience handling large-scale content websites with millions of URLs.
7. Understanding of Google Core Updates and search quality guidelines.
8. Ability to work with editorial teams and provide SEO-driven content recommendations.
9. Familiarity with AI Search, AEO, GEO, and LLM optimization strategies.
10. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience managing both English and Hindi content ecosystems.
2. Experience in enterprise publishing or media organizations.
3. Knowledge of SEO workflow automations using AI and scripting tools is a plus.
4. Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, or custom publishing systems is additional plus.
