Legal & Government Regulatory Compliance Executive / Manager

Main responsibilities

- Monitor Central Government and State Government websites daily.
- Track new Acts, Rules, Regulations, Notifications, Circulars, Government Orders (G.O.), Office Memorandums and Gazette notifications.
- Track amendments, repeals, commencement notifications and implementation dates.
- Monitor relevant Ministries, Departments, regulators and statutory authorities.
- Track government policy changes and regulatory developments affecting the company.
- Monitor key court/tribunal judgments and legal developments relevant to the business.
- Track daily government and regulatory news and identify matters requiring company action.
- Prepare a Daily Regulatory Update for management.
- Prepare a Weekly Government & Legal Update Report.
- Maintain a Regulatory Compliance Calendar with deadlines and responsible persons.
- Maintain an Acts & Rules Register.
- Maintain a Government Notifications Register.
- Maintain an Amendment Tracker showing old provision → new provision → effective date → action required.
- Prepare summaries of lengthy Acts, Rules and notifications in simple business language.
- Identify whether a new law is applicable or not applicable to the company.
- Identify compliance gaps and coordinate with relevant departments for corrective action.
- Prepare internal compliance notes, SOPs, policies, checklists and management reports.
- Maintain documentary evidence of compliance.
- Coordinate with external lawyers, consultants, auditors and government authorities when required.
- Ensure key government communications are properly documented and escalated.
- Track licences, registrations, renewals, filings, returns and statutory deadlines applicable to the business.
- Maintain an organised digital repository of Acts, Rules, notifications, circulars, orders and supporting documents.
- Verify information against official government sources, rather than relying only on news articles or social media.




- Prepare management alerts for urgent or high-risk regulatory changes.

The Government's current labour framework includes the four Labour Codes, and official material highlights changes involving wages, social security, occupational safety, inspections and electronic record keeping. 3. Tax & Finance

- Income Tax

- FEMA, where applicable
- Finance Ministry notifications and circulars

4. Data & Technology

- Digital/data protection requirements
- IT-related laws and rules
- Cybersecurity requirements

5. Industry-specific regulations The employee should identify the regulators and laws specifically applicable to your industry rather than attempting to monitor every law in India. 6. Tamil Nadu / State Compliance

If the company operates in Tamil Nadu, the role should additionally monitor Tamil Nadu Government G.Os, Labour Department notifications, state rules and departmental orders. The Tamil Nadu Government publishes department-specific Government Orders, including Labour Welfare and Skill Development notifications.

Identify, monitor, summarise and coordinate regulatory requirements, and escalate matters requiring professional legal advice to the company's legal counsel/external counsel

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
