Synergix Services Private Limited is looking for an experienced Senior Life Underwriter to join our Underwriting team in Thane, Maharashtra.

Position: Senior Life Underwriter

Location: Thane, Maharashtra

Experience: 5+ Years

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

- Assess and classify mortality risks for proposed insureds within defined authority limits.
- Review medical, financial, occupational, lifestyle, and other underwriting information.
- Apply advanced medical knowledge and industry expertise to evaluate complex cases.
- Assess the applicants overall risk profile holistically rather than evaluating individual risk factors in isolation.
- Make well-informed underwriting decisions and provide clear recommendations.
- Review medical reports, laboratory investigations, physician statements, and other relevant documents.
- Ensure underwriting decisions are consistent with company guidelines and risk appetite.
- Handle complex and high-value cases within assigned authority.




- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with underwriting standards.
- Collaborate with medical, claims, operations, and other relevant teams when required.

What Were Looking For

5+ years of relevant experience in Life Insurance Underwriting

Strong knowledge of medical and mortality risk assessment

Experience handling complex underwriting cases

Strong understanding of life insurance products and underwriting guidelines

Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills

Solid attention to detail and ability to manage complex cases

Ability to work independently within defined authority limits

Preferred Certifications

ALU (Associate, Life Underwriting) certification preferred

FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute) certification will be an advantage

Other relevant Life Insurance / Underwriting certifications will be considered positively
