The Group Financial Associate will be the primary preparer for the Groups finance function, responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting cycle across the Groups entities. The role will bring recurring finance operations in-house, enabling senior finance capacity to focus on review, strategy and recent initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Bookkeeping
Bookkeeping: Post and maintain accurate, well-coded ledgers in Xero across all Group entities.
Bank, AR/AP & Vendor Payments: Reconcile bank accounts across currencies, manage accounts receivable and payable, and manage vendor payments.
Apportionments & Intercompany: Calculate and book cost apportionments and intercompany entries in line with Group rules.
Management Accounts & Month-End Close
Management Accounts: Prepare the first-cut monthly management accounts for each entity and compile the Group pack.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare reconciliations and maintain supporting evidence.
Monthly Close: Run month-end close activities in accordance with the Group calendar to ensure a timely and accurate close.
Variance Reporting: Prepare transparent commentary on performance against budget and forecast.
Audit & Tax
Audit & Tax:
Manage the day-to-day audit and tax process and act as the primary point of contact for auditor and tax-adviser requests.
The Group Financial Accountant will prepare monthly management accounts and month-end close deliverables, which will be reviewed and signed off by senior finance and the Director.
Preferred Background:
Experience: 24 years of experience in accounting or group/multi-entity finance. International exposure preferred; experience in real estate, fund or SPV accounting will be an advantage.
Qualification: Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA) or equivalent.
Technical Skills: Robust hands-on experience with Xero or a comparable cloud accounting platform and advanced Excel skills. Solid understanding of double-entry accounting, intercompany transactions, apportionments, reconciliations and month-end close. Multi-currency experience will be an advantage.
AI & Tools: Confident using AI tools and automation to improve the efficiency and accuracy of routine work.
Mindset: Self-starting and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Takes ownership, reliably meets close deadlines and handles confidential information with discretion.
