Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Excavation & Site Oversight: Monitor daily excavation, trenching, and test-pitting operations to verify subsurface conditions against expected geological models.
Geological Logging: Perform accurate lithological, geotechnical, and structural logging of drill cores, soil samples, and excavation faces.
Sampling & Testing: Collect, label, and dispatch soil, rock, and aggregate samples following strict QA/QC protocols.
Mapping & Data Collection: Assist in geological mapping, face mapping, and spatial data collection using GPS and GIS tools.
Reporting: Prepare concise daily shift reports, progress logs, and data entries regarding ground conditions and excavation volumes.
Safety Compliance: Strictly enforce and adhere to site health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, conducting regular safety audits and hazard assessments for earthworks.
Preferred candidate profile
Education: Bachelors Degree (B.Sc./B.Tech) in Geology, Applied Geology, Earth Sciences, or Geotechnical Engineering.
Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on qualified experience in field geology, mining, civil construction, or excavation projects.
Physical Fitness & Mobility: Physically fit with the capability to work long hours in rugged outdoor field settings, harsh weather, and remote project sites.
Technical Proficiency: Basic understanding of geological modeling or mapping software (e.g., ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or RockWare) and proficiency in MS Excel.
Licenses/Permits: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel or relocate temporarily to project sites.
