Role Overview:
Individual contributor role focused on embedded firmware debugging using telemetry logs, crash dumps, and error records from cloud based embedded devices.
---
Key Responsibilities:
Perform root cause analysis of firmware faults across large-scale cloud-based embedded devices and SoC platforms, primarily ARM-based architectures.
Analyse firmware crash dumps, error records (e.g., CPER, ACPI), and system event logs to identify and isolate firmware-level issues.
File detailed bug reports with thorough technical analysis and assign them to the appropriate teams for resolution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (firmware, hardware, fleet operations) to drive bug closures in a timely manner.
Develop and maintain query-based telemetry reads for proactive detection of issues such as correctable/uncorrectable errors, thermal events, watchdog timeouts, and bus failures.
Leverage crash dump analysis tools to decode firmware payloads for exact fault localisation.
Perform fleet-wide log analysis to identify failure patterns across nodes, clusters,
firmware versions, and hardware revisions.
---
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in at least one programming language (C, C++, or Python). Experience with query languages for telemetry analysis (e.g., KQL) is preferred.
Valuable understanding of embedded systems concepts, including RTOS, interrupt handling, and memory-mapped I/O.
Familiarity with one or more communication protocols such as SCMI, MCTP, I3C, MHU, or ICC, particularly in multi-die SoC architectures.
Experience with source control (Git), pull request workflows, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
Awareness of cloud datacenter operations and remediation workflows is a plus.
---
Competencies:
Required:
Solid analytical and debugging skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate effectively across firmware, hardware, and fleet operations teams.
Self-driven problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate
