Role Purpose
The role will be responsible for providing clinical, programmatic and operational support to Counseling interventions across Pune and Nagpur. The position will combine direct therapeutic intervention with counselor support, stakeholder coordination, documentation, M&E; requirements, and field-level program implementation.
The role requires an individual who can work independently in dynamic field environments, respond appropriately to crisis situations, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and maintain high standards of clinical practice and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
A. Raid, Rescue &
- Post-Rescue Support
- Attend MDU calls and coordinate with relevant multidisciplinary stakeholders during raid and rescue operations.
- Provide immediate post-rescue psychosocial support to survivors when required.
- Support counselors during post-rescue interventions.
- Accompany Junior Counselors during field-based post-rescue interventions when required.
- Respond to crisis situations involving survivors and/or stakeholders.
- Coordinate with relevant internal teams during urgent or sensitive cases.
B.
Counselor
Mentoring &
- Clinical Support
- Provide regular mentoring and operational support to Junior Counselors.
- Support Junior Counselors in planning daily field activities, survivor interventions and documentation.
- Conduct regular case discussions with Jr. counselors
- Provide clinical guidance and support in complex or challenging cases.
- Support Junior Counselors in developing appropriate intervention plans.
- Identify areas where counselors require additional support, training or supervision and communicate these to leadership.
C.
Stakeholder
Engagement &
- Program Coordination
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary stakeholders for Counseling Project implementation and approvals.
- Maintain communication with relevant government and external stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings with stakeholders as required.
- Support coordination with authorities during post-rescue and survivor-support processes.
- Build and maintain professional working relationships with stakeholders across Pune and Nagpur.
D. Monitoring, Evaluation &
- Reporting
- Coordinate with the M&E; team to ensure timely completion of reporting requirements.
- Ensure all required counseling and project documentation is completed accurately.
- Review counseling reports and documentation before submission to authorities.
- Complete and coordinate Quarterly Progress Reviews (QPRs).
- Update and maintain the Leadership Dashboard.
- Track project targets and progress in coordination with leadership.
- Support preparation for Case Review Audits and Case Management Meetings.
- Make sure KOBO (Documentation Tool) is completed in a timely manner
- Identify reporting gaps and follow up with counselors to ensure timely completion.
E.
Project
Planning &
- Target Management
- Support the implementation of Counseling projects across Pune and Nagpur.
- Track progress against agreed targets and timelines.
- Identify operational challenges affecting project implementation and escalate them appropriately.
- Support leadership in maintaining continuity and quality of ongoing projects.
F. Field &
- Cross-Location Support
- Travel to Nagpur as per need for counselor mentoring, clinical supervision and stakeholder meetings. (Optional)
- Provide additional field support when required based on program needs, crisis situations, or organizational priorities.
4. Key Deliverables
The person in this role will be expected to ensure:
- Post-rescue psychosocial support is provided when required.
- Junior Counselors receive regular mentoring and clinical support.
- Case discussions and clinical guidance are conducted consistently.
- Counseling documentation is reviewed and submitted within required timelines.
- M&E; requirements, Quarterly Progress Reviews, and project reporting are completed on time.
- Leadership Dashboard is updated regularly.
- Project targets for Pune and Nagpur are tracked and monitored.
- Stakeholder coordination and required approvals are followed up consistently.
- CRA and CMM preparation requirements are completed.
- Recruitment and onboarding support are provided when required.
- Timely submission of counseling reports is done to stakeholders.
- Required travel and field-level program support is maintained across Pune and Nagpur.

Required Skills &
- Competencies
Essential
- Master's degree in counselling psychology / clinical psychology
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, children/adolescents, or survivors of trauma.
- Robust understanding of trauma-informed approaches and psychosocial support.
- Ability to conduct individual and group counseling interventions.
- Good documentation and report writing skills.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and crisis situations calmly and appropriately.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Willingness to travel regularly to Mumbai and Nagpur.
Desirable
- Experience in child protection, trafficking, shelter homes, aftercare or related fields.
Experience working with government stakeholders such as Child Welfare Committee, District Child Protection Unit, Police, Department of Women and Child Development or Anti Human Trafficking Unit.
- Experience in clinical supervision or mentoring junior counselors.
- Experience with M&E;, project reporting, and target tracking.
- Experience working across multiple geographical locations.
