Job Description Senior QA Engineer (Data Platform)

Role: Data Platform QA Engineer
Experience: 5+ years

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer with robust expertise in testing data platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience validating data pipelines, backend APIs, data transformations, dashboards, and platform-level workflows — with a solid understanding of Azure Synapse, Data Warehouse, and medallion architecture.

This role involves ensuring data accuracy, integrity, performance, security, and end-to-end quality across the platform.

Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Execution
Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for:
Data pipelines and ETL workflows
Backend APIs
Frontend portals and reporting interfaces
ETL & Data Integrity Validation
Identify and troubleshoot issues related to:
ETL data accuracy and integrity
Data performance bottlenecks
Scalability concerns across data workloads
Work extensively on the Azure Synapse data platform, Data Warehouse layers,



and medallion architecture.
Workflow & Onboarding Validation
Validate data ingestion, transformation, and reporting workflows for recent client onboarding.
Ensure smooth end-to-end flow from source ingestion to reporting/analytics.
Dashboard & Analytics Testing
Verify that dashboards, KPIs, and analytics views reflect accurate, consistent, and up-to-date data.
Collaborate with BI/reporting teams for UI/UX and data validation.
Security & Access Control Testing
Test platform roles, permissions, and access controls for:
Authorization accuracy
Compliance and data governance requirements
Role-based access across tools and datasets
Test Automation
Design and maintain automated test suites for:
Regression testing
Functional and integration testing
API and data pipeline verification
Contribute to continuous testing pipelines within CI/CD environments.
