Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Assistant Purchase Manager to support the procurement function and ensure timely availability of quality materials, components, consumables, and services at competitive prices. The candidate will be responsible for vendor coordination, purchase planning, negotiations, order management, and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing the end-to-end procurement process for raw materials, components, consumables, and other requirements.
Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
Float enquiries, compare quotations, negotiate price, quality, delivery, and payment terms.
Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Monitor open POs and coordinate with suppliers for delivery schedules and follow-ups.
Maintain adequate material availability as per production and inventory requirements.
Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Finance, and Planning departments for procurement-related activities.




Develop alternative sources to reduce dependency on single suppliers.
Negotiate with vendors for cost reduction and better commercial terms.
Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.
Resolve issues related to material shortages, quality rejections, delayed deliveries, and commercial discrepancies.
Maintain proper records of vendors, quotations, purchase orders, rates, and procurement transactions.
Support periodic vendor evaluation and performance review.
Prepare purchase-related MIS reports and provide procurement updates to management.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and approved procedures.

Required Skills & Competencies
Robust knowledge of Purchase & Procurement Management.
Valuable understanding of manufacturing/automotive components and industrial materials.
Solid vendor development and negotiation skills.
