Job Summary:
The Assistant Professor in Malayalam is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in Malayalam language and literature, guiding students in their academic development, conducting research, and contributing to departmental and institutional growth through active participation in academic and co-curricular activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures and tutorials in Malayalam language and literature.
Design and update syllabi, lesson plans, and course materials in alignment with university guidelines.
Evaluate and grade students’ assignments, examinations, and projects.
Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
Engage in scholarly research, publications, and academic presentations.
Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development,
and quality enhancement activities.
Organize and support literary, cultural, and language-based events.
Maintain academic records and ensure timely submission of reports and grades.
Contribute to the institution’s vision by participating in community outreach, seminars, and workshops.
Adhere to institutional policies and promote discipline and integrity within the academic setting.
Qualifications:
Educational Qualification:
Master’s Degree in Malayalam Language/Literature with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
Ph.D. in Malayalam or enrollment in a Ph.D. program is desirable.
Must fulfill the eligibility criteria as per UGC/University norms.
Experience:
Prior teaching or research experience at the college or university level preferred.
Skills:
Solid command of Malayalam language and literature.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
