ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Safety Officer to ensure a safe, compliant and accident-free working environment across construction project sites.

The candidate will be responsible for implementing HSE systems, conducting inspections, identifying hazards, ensuring PPE compliance, conducting safety training and maintaining safety documentation.

The role is ideal for candidates with experience in building construction, real estate projects, high-rise construction or EPC environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Site Safety Management

- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions and practices.
- Ensure compliance with approved safety procedures and project HSE requirements.
- Monitor PPE compliance among employees, workers and contractors.
- Ensure proper barricading, signage and housekeeping across project areas.
- Monitor safety practices for excavation, scaffolding, lifting, electrical work and work at height.

Work-at-Height & High-Risk Activities

- Monitor work-at-height activities and ensure proper safety systems are followed.
- Inspect scaffolding, ladders, platforms, lifelines and other safety arrangements.
- Monitor lifting operations, material handling and equipment safety.
- Ensure permits and safety controls are followed for high-risk activities.

Training & Awareness

- Conduct toolbox talks and daily/weekly safety briefings.
- Conduct safety induction for new employees, workers and contractors.
- Organise safety awareness campaigns, mock drills and emergency preparedness activities.
- Promote a robust safety culture across the project.





Incident Management

- Report and investigate accidents, incidents and near misses.
- Identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accident, incident and safety records.
- Follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Compliance & Documentation

- Maintain safety inspection reports, registers, checklists and records.
- Ensure required statutory safety documentation is maintained at site.
- Conduct periodic safety audits and submit reports to management.
- Coordinate with project teams and contractors for safety compliance.

QUALIFICATION

Degree/Diploma in Engineering / Safety / Industrial Safety or relevant qualification.

Certification such as ADIS / NEBOSH / IOSH will be an advantage.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

Someone who is firm, proactive and confident enough to enforce safety standards on an active construction site, while working effectively with engineers, supervisors, contractors and workers.
