Company Description Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) is a not-for-profit Section-8 company established as a Public–Private Partnership to advance skill development and entrepreneurship in Andhra Pradesh. The corporation operates with a 49% stake from the Government of Andhra Pradesh and 51% private equity, combining public vision with private sector efficiency. As the Executive Agency for the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, APSSDC designs and implements key initiatives to build a skilled workforce.
It plays a central role in the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s Knowledge and Skills Mission, supporting the state’s goal of sustained double-digit economic growth. The organization focuses on creating high-quality training and employment opportunities for diverse populations across the state.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Reporter role based in Rajahmundry. The Reporter will gather news and information related to APSSDC programs, events, and initiatives through field visits, interviews, and document review. Daily responsibilities include researching stories, verifying facts, writing clear and accurate news articles, and producing multimedia content such as photos or short videos to support coverage.
The role involves collaborating with communication and program teams to ensure timely reporting,
preparing updates for internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining ethical and professional reporting standards. The Reporter is expected to meet deadlines, adapt to dynamic field conditions, and represent APSSDC professionally in interactions with learners, training partners, government officials, and community members.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Reporting and News Writing skills for accurate, timely coverage of events and initiatives.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Writing skills to produce transparent, engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Candidates should possess Multimedia skills to capture and present visual and audio content that enhances storytelling.
- Relevant experience in journalism, media, or communications, preferably covering education, skill development, or public sector initiatives.
- Ability to conduct interviews, perform basic research and fact-checking, and maintain journalistic integrity and neutrality.
- Strong command of English; proficiency in Telugu or other local languages is an advantage.
- Comfort working on-site and in the field, with the ability to travel within the region as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
