The Senior IT Specialist will be responsible for managing and supporting the institution’s IT infrastructure, systems, applications, network, and end-user services. The role will ensure reliable, secure and productive technology support for academic and administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain desktops, laptops, servers, networks, Wi-Fi, printers, UPS, and other IT infrastructure.
Provide advanced technical support to faculty, staff, and students and resolve escalated IT issues.
Monitor network, internet, systems, and infrastructure performance and ensure timely troubleshooting.
Support IT provisioning for new employees, including system access, email, software, and hardware.
Maintain and troubleshoot institutional applications such as ERP, HRMS, LMS, attendance, appraisal, and other digital platforms.
Support smart classrooms, laboratories, AV systems, online meetings, examinations, and other academic technology requirements.
Implement IT security measures, access controls, endpoint protection, patching, and cybersecurity practices.
Monitor backups and support data recovery and business continuity processes.
Maintain IT asset records and coordinate repairs, AMC, warranties, and replacements.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for IT projects, installations, upgrades, and issue resolution.
Prepare and maintain IT documentation, SOPs, system records, and technical reports.
Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and digital transformation.
Requirements
Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Applications, Electronics, or a related field.
5–8 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in a higher education or institutional workplace.
Required Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Knowledge of networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure.
