Job Summary
We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join our quality engineering team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of software testing fundamentals along with hands-on experience in test automation using Java and Playwright.
The candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements and workflows, designing and executing test cases, identifying and reporting defects, developing and maintaining automated regression tests, and collaborating closely with developers and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality software releases.
This role is suitable for someone who enjoys both manual testing and automation testing and wants to work on real-world enterprise applications and business workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and functional requirements and identify test scenarios.
- Understand application workflows, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
- Prepare detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Execute manual test cases and document test results.
- Identify, investigate, document, and track software defects.
- Perform defect retesting and regression testing after fixes.
- Develop and maintain automated UI test cases using Java and Playwright.
- Build reusable and maintainable automation components following best practices such as Page Object Model (POM).
- Identify suitable manual test cases for automation.
- Handle dynamic web elements, waits, browser interactions, popups, frames, multiple pages/tabs, and file operations.
- Develop automated tests for critical business workflows.
- Execute automated regression suites and analyze test failures.
- Troubleshoot automation failures and determine whether the root cause is related to the application, automation code, environment, or test data.
- Perform API testing and validate request/response data.
- Validate application data using SQL/database queries when required.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners,
and other QA engineers.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain automation code using Git.
- Support test execution through CI/CD pipelines.
- Maintain test documentation, automation reports, logs, screenshots, and other testing artifacts.
- Contribute to improving test coverage, automation reliability, and overall QA processes.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in software testing / QA automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to understand complex application workflows and business requirements.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
