Position: Purchase Engineer / Sr. Purchase Engineer

Location: Kathwada GIDC, Nikol, Ahmedabad

Job Summary

We are looking for multidisciplinary purchase engineer for diverse business segments. The incumbent will manage the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of critical technical equipment, raw material, civil work related material, and other operational and capital items for our projects and products. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between manufacturing & project requirements and supplier capabilities, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality, and timely delivery of material and instruments while mitigating supply chain risks.

Key Responsibilities

· Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified vendors (local & international) for sensors, transmitters, control valves, PLCs, civil project items, etc..

· Technical Sourcing: Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical specifications, review datasheets, drawings, and supplier submittals (RFQs/RFPs).

· Negotiation & Contracts: Lead commercial and technical negotiations to secure best value, competitive pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.

· Procurement Execution: Prepare Purchase Requisitions (PRs), manage RFQ/RFP processes, and issue Purchase Orders (POs).

· Cost & Risk Management: Conduct cost analysis, identify savings opportunities, and proactively monitor market trends/risks impacting instrumentation supply.





· Performance Monitoring: Track supplier performance, quality, and on-time delivery, resolving issues and managing supplier relationships.

· Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

· Documentation: Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and update ERP systems.

Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electronics).

· Experience: 4 to 8 years in procurement (Engineering/Manufacturing/Civil Projects).

Skills & Abilities:

· Hands-on experience of working in SAP.

· Strong understanding and knowledge of technical specifications and material requirements.

· Proven skills in RFQ/RFP management, negotiation, contract management, and strategic sourcing.

· High proficiency in MS Excel and other applications.

· Excellent communication (written/verbal), analytical, decision-making, and project management skills.

Preferred:

· Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Process Industries, Analytical Instruments, Civil Projects.

· Knowledge of international logistics and import/export procedures.
