Summary of Role Description:

The Plant Head / Head of Operations will be responsible for the overall management of manufacturing and operational activities of the company in India. The role includes ensuring smooth plant operations, achieving production and invoicing targets, improving operational systems and processes, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring coordination between production, procurement, stores, and sales teams in a high-mix and low-volume business environment. The position will also support business growth by strengthening domestic sales operations and supporting global sales with a timely response to customer enquiries.

Responsibilities:

- Planning, directing & coordinating manufacturing operations of various departments to ensure that all the operations are managed cost-effectively, maintaining optimum levels of productivity under strict budgetary control, and minimising wastage of resources.
- Ensuring that all operations are managed in a skilled manner that preserves and protects the company assets, ensures targeted business growth of the company and protects the safety & health of employees.
- Improving the operational systems, SOPs, and operations policies in support of the organisation’s mission – specifically support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process, and organisational planning.



To have the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Coordinating the operation of the Operating Excellence System (Operations Management System), ensuring all goals are met, and continuous improvement is achieved in all aspects of the operations.
- Oversee quality control throughout the company, establishing goals for each department.
- Leading the development of the company’s short- and long-term strategy.
- Maintaining awareness of the competitive market landscape, expansion opportunities, industry developments, etc.
- Hands-on experience with the CNC / VMC machining.
- Assessing risks to the company and ensuring they are monitored and minimised.
- Setting strategic goals and making sure they are measurable and describable.
- Review production planning daily.
- Discuss with the individual product supervisor on manufacturing status + raw material shortfalls, joint discussions with procurement + store.
- Weekly review meeting with management on planned invoicing target.
- To give an alarm on delays on raw material shortfalls, in process difficulties related to (Utilities, Manpower, Machine Shop), which are directly affecting invoicing.
- Support the Global Sales team for the on-time submission of all customer enquiries/queries responses.
- Build and scale the Domestic Sales team.

Requisite Skills:

- Minimum 20+ Years’ experience in Manufacturing / Plant Operations. B.E Mechanical, Instrumentation, etc.
- Experience in handling complete plant operations, including Production, Planning, Quality, Procurement and Stores.
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate with different departments and ensure smooth plant operations.
