AGM / DGM Commercial Purchase & Procurement

Location: Indore / Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh

Industry: Steel Manufacturing

Experience: 15–20 Years

Qualification: B.Tech / B.E. – Mechanical Engineering

Key Responsibilities

- Lead Plant Commercial Purchase & Procurement operations.
- Manage procurement for Wire Rod Mill, Bar Mill & Strip Mill.
- Handle procurement requirements for SMS (Steel Melting Shop) & AOD.
- Manage OPEX, consumables, spares, engineering items and plant services.
- Lead RFQ, techno-commercial evaluation, negotiations, vendor finalization and PO placement.
- Develop and manage strategic vendors and alternate sources.
- Drive cost reduction, price benchmarking and commercial optimization.
- Handle AMC, maintenance, fabrication, mechanical/electrical and other plant service contracts.
- Ensure timely procurement in coordination with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, Stores, Finance and Operations.
- Monitor procurement MIS, PR/PO status, delivery schedules, vendor performance and savings.




- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, approval matrix and internal controls.

Mandatory Requirements 15–20 years of experience in Commercial Purchase / Procurement

Steel Manufacturing Industry experience – Mandatory

Steel Plant Procurement exposure – Mandatory

Hands-on exposure to Wire Rod Mill / Bar Mill / Strip Mill / SMS / AOD procurement

Strong experience in OPEX & Services Procurement

Minimum 10 years of Leadership / Team Handling experience

Strong vendor development & commercial negotiation skills

Excellent understanding of mechanical/engineering procurement

B.Tech / B.E. Mechanical – Mandatory

Strong Team Handling & Stakeholder Management capability

SAP/ERP exposure preferred

Candidates with hands-on experience in Rolling Mills, SMS, AOD and integrated/secondary steel manufacturing plants will be preferred.
