Position: Supervisor – Pressure Die Casting (PDC)

Experience: 3–8 years in Pressure Die Casting / Die Casting Production

Education: Diploma / ITI / BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or related discipline preferred

1. Job Purpose

To supervise and control day-to-day Pressure Die Casting (PDC) production activities, ensuring safe and efficient operation of PDC machines, optimum manpower and machine utilization, adherence to production schedules, and achievement of required quality standards.
1. Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Machine Operations

- Supervise daily production activities on Pressure Die Casting machines.
- Ensure production is carried out as per the production plan, cycle time, and required output.
- Monitor machine parameters such as injection pressure, shot speed, metal temperature, die temperature, holding pressure, cycle time, and other critical process parameters.
- Ensure proper start-up, operation, shutdown, and housekeeping of PDC machines.
- Monitor machine productivity, downtime, rejection, and overall equipment utilization.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for machine breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
- Identify process abnormalities and take appropriate corrective action.

Die & Process Management
- Supervise die loading, unloading, die setting, die changeover, and trial activities.
- Ensure proper die alignment, clamping, cooling, lubrication, and other required connections.
- Monitor die condition and report abnormalities such as flash, porosity, cracks, soldering, sticking, or dimensional issues.
- Ensure correct process parameters are maintained for each component/die.
- Support die trials and process optimization to improve productivity and quality.
- Minimize die changeover time and machine idle time.

Quality Control
- Ensure components are produced according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor first-piece approval and in-process inspection requirements.
- Control defects such as porosity, blow holes,



cold shuts, misruns, flash, shrinkage, cracks, soldering, and dimensional variation.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department for rejection analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper segregation and identification of OK, rejected, rework, and hold components.
- Maintain process and inspection records as required.

Manpower Management
- Allocate operators and helpers according to the production plan and machine requirements.
- Monitor operator performance, attendance, discipline, and adherence to work instructions.
- Train and guide operators on safe machine operation, process parameters, quality requirements, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure adequate manpower availability across shifts.
- Conduct shift handover with clear communication regarding production, quality, machine condition, and pending issues.

Safety & 5S
- Ensure strict compliance with safety procedures while operating PDC machines and related equipment.
- Ensure operators use required PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, face shields, helmets, and protective clothing.
- Prevent unsafe practices involving molten metal, dies, hydraulic systems, moving machinery, and high-temperature surfaces.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S standards in the die casting area.
- Report and immediately address unsafe conditions, near misses, and safety incidents.

Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Monitor recurring machine problems and escalate them to the Maintenance/Production Manager.
- Ensure basic operator-level maintenance and cleaning activities are completed.
- Monitor hydraulic oil, lubrication, cooling water, die cooling, and other critical machine utilities.




- Support preventive maintenance activities and machine condition monitoring.

Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain shift-wise production reports and machine-wise production data.
- Record rejection, rework, downtime, cycle time, and productivity.
- Prepare shift handover reports and communicate abnormalities to the next shift.
- Maintain process parameter sheets, checklists, and other required production records.
- Monitor key production indicators and support improvement initiatives.

. Required Technical Knowledge The candidate should have practical knowledge of:
- Pressure Die Casting machine operation
- Cold Chamber / Hot Chamber PDC process, as applicable
- Die setting and die changeover
- Injection and shot parameters
- Molten metal handling and temperature control
- Die temperature and cooling systems
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Die lubrication / release systems
- Trimming and deburring processes
- Common PDC casting defects and their causes
- Basic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Vernier caliper, micrometer, gauges, and basic inspection equipment
- Production documentation and basic computer/MIS reporting

1. Preferred Skills

- Strong shop-floor supervision skills
- Valuable knowledge of PDC production processes
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot casting defects
- Manpower handling and shift management
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work under production targets and time constraints
- Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and basic quality tools is an advantage
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts

1. Qualification & Experience

Minimum Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, or related trade. Preferred: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.

Experience: 3–8 years of relevant experience in Pressure Die Casting / Die Casting Production, preferably in an automotive or engineering component manufacturing environment.

Pay: From ₹35,000.00 per month
