Your Role: Packaging Engineer (6 months contract)
As a Packaging Engineer, you will provide technical oversight for assigned finished products packaging within Elanco's External Manufacturing (EEM) International network. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in packaging processes and materials while ensuring technical excellence and GMP-compliant documentation.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise in packaging processes, materials, and technologies to support external manufacturing initiatives.
- Initiate and manage change controls while maintaining oversight of key GMP documentation, including packaging specifications and Master Batch Records (MBRs).
- Author technical reports and position papers to support regulatory submissions, internal audits, and Health Authority inquiries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations and Quality to support investigations related to deviations and quality events.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and global regulatory requirements related to manufacturing and validation oversight.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
- Education: Advanced university degree in life science, engineering (Chemical, Packaging, Mechanical, Materials), or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience : 2-7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, veterinary, or chemical industry in a technical role related to packaging.
- Skills : Fluent in English with a working knowledge of applied statistics, quality systems, and global regulatory requirements.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
- Advanced postgraduate qualifications such as a Ph.D. or MBA.
- Knowledge of packaging equipment, material specifications, and packaging process validation.
- Proficiency in an additional European language.
- Experience authoring and reviewing technical documentation within a GMP-regulated environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills using statistical tools to identify improvement opportunities.
