A Material Handler is responsible for the effective and protected movement, storage, and management of goods and materials within a warehouse, production facility, or distribution centre. They ensure that materials are accurately tracked and available for production or shipping. Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Unloading: Unloading incoming product deliveries and verifying their quantity and quality against purchase orders or manifests.
Inventory Management: Identifying, labelling, and storing materials in designated areas. Maintaining accurate records of stock levels and locations using warehouse management systems.
Order Fulfillment: Pulling and verifying materials from pick sheets for production orders or customer shipments. Packaging and wrapping orders for delivery.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operating material-handling machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes.
Safety & Maintenance: Following all safety protocols, conducting pre-use equipment inspections, and keeping work areas clean and orderly.
Requirements & Skills
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand or walk for long periods and lift heavy objects (often between 10 to 20 kg).
Soft Skills: Robust attention to detail, organisational abilities, effective communication, and a team-oriented mindset.
