A Librarian is responsible for managing the school library, maintaining books and learning resources, and creating a reading-friendly environment for students and staff. The librarian encourages reading habits, supports academic learning, and ensures proper organization of library materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and organize books, magazines, newspapers, and digital learning resources.
Issue and receive library books and maintain proper records.
Guide students in selecting books and developing reading habits.
Maintain discipline and a quiet environment in the library.
Arrange books systematically according to categories and subjects.
Conduct library periods and reading activities for students.
Maintain inventory and update library records regularly.
Support teachers and students with reference materials and academic resources.
Organize book fairs, reading programs, and literary activities.
Ensure proper care and maintenance of library resources.
Basic Qualification:
Graduate in any discipline.
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Library Science (B.Lib./B.Lib.Sc.) preferred.
Basic computer knowledge and record management skills.
Valuable communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of library management systems.
Robust organizational and record-keeping abilities.
Interest in books, reading, and student learning.
Friendly and disciplined approach toward students.
Experience:
Freshers and experienced candidates both may apply.
