- Heat Treatment & Metallurgy

Hands-on knowledge of Through Hardening, including furnace heating, quenching and tempering.

Knowledge of Induction Hardening parameters, coil setup, heating, quenching and hardness control.

Knowledge of Tempering, Stress Relieving, Annealing, Normalizing and other heat-treatment processes.

Knowledge of ADI (Austempered Ductile Iron) process and metallurgical requirements.

Prepare and control heat-treatment process parameters, work instructions and process sheets.

Analyze heat-treatment defects such as hardness variation, soft spots, distortion, cracking and improper microstructure.

Support development and validation of new heat-treatment processes.

- Metallurgical Laboratory

Hands-on experience with metallurgical laboratory instruments such as:

Optical / Inverted Metallurgical Microscope

Micro Vickers / Vickers Hardness Tester

Rockwell Hardness Tester

Sample Cutting Machine

Mounting Press

Grinding & Polishing Machine

Metallographic sample preparation equipment

Conduct and evaluate microstructure, hardness, case depth and metallurgical examination.

Knowledge of grain flow, grain size, decarburization, ferrite/pearlite, martensite, bainite and retained austenite evaluation.

- Quality & Customer Requirements





Prepare metallurgical inspection reports and heat-treatment records.

Support customer audits and technical discussions related to metallurgy and heat treatment.

Investigate customer/internal rejections using Root Cause Analysis, 8D, 5 Why and metallurgical analysis.

Ensure compliance with customer specifications, drawings and applicable ASTM/ISO/EN standards.

- Process Improvement

Monitor heat-treatment process capability and identify opportunities for improvement.

Support trials for recent materials, heat-treatment cycles and process parameters.

Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance and external heat-treatment suppliers.

Maintain calibration and verification records for laboratory and testing equipment.
